What did you recently finish reading?

It’s been a little hectic lately and I was also doing a bit of traveling recently, but I did manage to finish my read from last week, Parable of the Sower by Octavia E. Butler. I absolutely loved this book – why did it take me so long to finally read it?? It was so good!!

What are you currently reading?

My goal right now is to finish up the Summer Reading Challenge on GoodReads, which ends on September 14th. I have books picked out and an actual reading schedule broken out to make sure I do this. I am currently reading The Unmagical Life of Briar Jones by Lex Croucher. This was on one of the challenge lists and was available on Kindle Unlimited, so I gave it a go and, so far, it’s been really good! That’s the thing I love about these types of challenges – it helps me find things I wouldn’t have found otherwise.

What do you think you’ll read next?

My next book will also being going towards the Summer Reading Challenge, The Heaven & Earth Grocery Store by James McBride. This one is also brand new to me, both the book and the author. I had purchased a copy sometime last year while browsing our local used bookstore. They had several copies and I was able to snag a hardcover edition for only $5. We love a good deal!
