MONTH IN REVIEW: September 2026

September was an incredibly busy month, both at work and outside of it, but I still managed to keep up with reading and blogging. In fact, I’ve gotten . . . better? How does that happen??

September Reads

  • The Unmagical Life of Briar Jones by Lex Croucher
  • The Heaven & Earth Grocery Store by James McBride
  • The Summer of Broken Rules by K.L. Walther
  • Alchemised by SenLinYu

Only four books, but Alchemised took a WHILE! Still a decent pace with what I want to do for the year. Speaking of . . .

Challenge Updates

GoodReads Challenge: My goal was to read 52 books this year. Currently sitting at 38 books, which according to GoodReads is right on track, although Hardcover says I’m one book behind. Either way, I’m still in a pretty good place.

GoodReads Choice Awards Challenge: My goal was to read all of the winners of the GoodReads Choice Awards from last year. This month, I read Alchemised which was the winner for Best Debut, bringing my total to 8 out of 13. I have plans to knock out at least a few more of these in October, so wish me luck.

Beat the Backlist: I think I’m officially retiring this one.

Blog Updates

I am very proud of this one, not gonna lie. I have figured out a better blogging schedule to fit into my day and managed to post almost every day this month? Let’s look at the breakdown:

  • Month in Review: 1
  • Top Ten Tuesday: 4
  • WWW Wednesday: 5
  • Book Blogger Hop: 4
  • Sunday Post: 3
  • Reviews: 9!!!

That’s 26 posts in 30 days! Including knocking out a huge chunk of reviews! October and November are both going to be incredibly busy, but I’m hoping to keep this up now that I have some momentum.

Overall, September was a crazy month, between work, family, theater, reading and blogging, but I am ultimately very pleased with how everything went. Here’s to continuing that energy into October!
