July was a bit of a slower month for many reasons, a month that brought some very high highs and very low lows. Unfortunately, that means that the reading and blogging suffered a bit, but let’s see how things went down.

Yep, only three books. Honestly, with as weird as my head has been lately, three books is good. Great, even. I got to finish up our buddy read of the Belladonna trilogy and make some progress towards some other reading challenges. Speaking of . . .
Challenge Updates
GoodReads Challenge: My goal was to read 52 books this year. As of the end of July, I’m at 31 books. According to GoodReads, this is exactly on track, which is great, although I’m a little disappointed to loose the 2 book lead I had at the end of June. Still, I’m not behind, and that’s what counts.
GoodReads Choice Awards Challenge: My goal was to read all of the winners of the GoodReads Choice Awards from last year. I did make progress on this one, with Great Big Beautiful Life by Emily Henry, which won Best Romance. I have to say, I really enjoy Emily Henry’s work. I’ve only read two of her books so far, both winners of GoodReads Choice Awards, but they are so fun and engaging to read! With that book, it brings me to 7 of 13 winners read, which I think is pretty respectable!
Beat the Backlist: Still on hiatus, at least until I figure out this reading slump situation.
Blog Updates
Not gonna lie, I’m pretty disappointed here. I thought after my big blogging month in June that I would be able to keep up that energy going into July and it . . . just fizzled out. I could make lots of excuses, but the main thing was that I just didn’t feel super motivated to do it. I did blog a tiny bit, so here’s what we got:

- WWW Wednesday: 3
Just 5 posts, compared to 24 posts in June. Meh. I’m actually surprised that I managed three WWW posts.
Overall, July was a challenging month for reading and blogging, mostly due to mental heath reasons. Here’s hoping that August is better, despite getting a late start!
