WWW Wednesday – August 12, 2026

WWW Wednesday is a weekly feature hosted by Sam at Taking On a World of Words. Three questions, three answers. Let’s go!

What did you recently finish reading?

My last WWW post was almost a month ago and, unfortunately, not a lot of reading has been happening. I could blame a reading slump, a depression spike, or our vacation as being the culprit, but the truth is that I’ve been spending way too much time doomscrolling on the socials and not enough time actually reading books. Ugh! I hate doing it! It’s so bad for me! And yet, sometimes it’s so hard to stop. That all said, I am making a more concentrated effort to put the focus back on things that make my brain feel better instead of worse, and getting back to blogging is one way of doing that.

ANYWAY . . . since my last WWW post, I’ve finished two books. I finished Wisteria by Adalyn Grace, the third and final book in the Belladonna series. This was the series that I was doing as a buddy read with two of my friends and we enjoyed it so much that we’re thinking about doing it again with something new. Haven’t decided what yet, but a list is being compiled. There’s a Google Doc now lol.

I also finished Great Big Beautiful Life by Emily Henry. I’ve only read two of Henry’s books, but I’ve enjoyed both of them. I can see why she’s won the Best Romance category of the GoodReads Choice Awards two years in a row (at least, not sure if she won before that). This is why I’ve enjoyed using these awards to broaden my reading horizons a bit – not sure if I would have ever picked up her books otherwise, and I’m so glad that I have.

What are you currently reading?

I am currently reading When the Moon Hits Your Eye by John Scalzi. I’m about halfway through and it is very fun. Your typical Scalzi – lots of humor, a bit of the absurd, and all around entertaining. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed every book of his that I’ve read.

What do you think you’ll read next?

I have one more library book that I need to read before it’s due (actually, I think it’s due back today, so I’d better renew it) – How to Be Okay When Nothing is Okay by Jenny Lawson. I absolutely love Jenny Lawson. I’ve followed her on her blog, The Bloggess, for years and read several of her previous books. This is her most recent one and I can’t wait to read it.

That’s my reading for the week!
