Book Blogger Hop is a weekly feature hosted by Billy at Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer. Each week, a new book related question is posted and everyone can share their answers. This week’s question is:
What’s the quirkiest or most unexpected place you’ve ever read a book, and why?
This one puzzled me a bit. I think it’s because I haven’t really read in many quirky places, mostly because I don’t go to many quirky places. I guess the strangest place I’ve read a book at would be in a Broadway theater? I had made a trip to NYC by myself (I did that a couple of times back in the day) and went to a couple shows. Since I was alone and didn’t have anyone to chat with (I’m not great at striking up conversations with strangers), I was a bit bored waiting for the show to start until I remembered that I had a book in my bag (I always have a book in my bag). I pulled it out and read until the lights dimmed. I also read during intermission. The person sitting next to me glanced over at me a few times, but I’m not sure if it was because she thought it was weird or if she was trying to see what book I was reading. Either way, I guess that’s my answer: reading a book in the audience of a crowded Broadway show.
(It should go without saying that, of course, I put the book away while the show was actually going on – I would never disrespect the performers by ignoring them in that way. But it was nice to have something to read during the breaks.)
Be sure to check out the other answers of this week’s Book Blogger Hop and let me know what the quirkiest place you’ve ever read a book was.

I would have done the same thing. For me, it was a closet during a tornado warning in South Carolina—with my dog, a flashlight, and a good book! 😊Feel free to stop by and read my full answer. Happy Reading!
Definitely an unusual spot! And hello, fellow Southerner and Carolinian! I’m from North Carolina and those tornado warnings are no joke!
That’s a great quirky place! If someone talks to me I’m fine with carrying on the conversation, but I would struggle to start it off!
Have a great weekend!

I’ve gotten better with small talk, mostly through my job dealing with customers, but it’s not my strong suit. I’m happier if I don’t have to talk to people!
For my Saturday job I used to work on tills at a Garden Centre so got to chat to some people. They probably started it though 🤣
