Month in Review Banner

Hello everyone! Took a bit of a blogging break towards the end of March, but I still got quite a bit of reading done. Hopefully I am back to blogging now, so expect more updates going into April.

Also, HOW IS IT APRIL ALREADY??? I’m in denial.

March Reads

  1. Chain of Thorns by Cassandra Clare
  2. Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel
  3. The Glass Hotel by Emily St. John Mandel
  4. The Road by Cormac McCarthy
  5. Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson
  6. Wintergirls by Laurie Halse Anderson
  7. Natalie Tan’s Book of Luck & Fortune by Roselle Lim
  8. Firekeeper’s Daughter by Angeline Boulley

Eight books in all. I had originally planned to read nine, but had some other issues come up this month. There were several days where I was not able to read, which was unfortunate since I’ve been trying to read at least a bit every day, but I still feel pretty good about my progress.

Six days that I didn’t read. I’m not too happy about that, but it is what it is.

Challenge Updates

This is something I’m actually pretty happy about.

GoodReads Challenge: My goal for this year was to read 100 books. As of the end of March, which is a quarter of the way through the year, I have read 25 books, which is a quarter of the way through my goal! Perfect!

Complete the Series: My goal was to finish six series on my list (you can see the list here). I didn’t work on this goal this month at all, but I am planning on working on that in April.

Beat the Backlist: This is the challenge that I really focused on this month. My goal was to read 25 books off of my owned TBR lists (i.e.. books that I own but haven’t read yet – there’s a lot). This month, I read SIX BOOKS for this challenge – The Glass Hotel, The Road, Speak, Wintergirls, Natalie Tan’s Book of Luck & Fortune, and Firekeeper’s Daughter. This brings my total books for this challenge up to 10! Almost halfway there and it’s only March!

A-to-Z Challenge: In March, I added four more books to my A-to-Z challenge! Doing really well with this one, but I know some of these letters will be tough to get later. These books bring my total up to 12 books out of 26 letters! Again, almost halfway there and it’s only March! Exciting!

  • G: The Glass Hotel
  • N: Natalie Tan’s Book of Luck & Fortune
  • R: The Road
  • S: Station Eleven

Blog Updates

Eh, the blog wasn’t doing as well this month, especially since I took the last half of the month off. Not worrying too much about it – it was a needed break and I still did so well with all my reading stuff.

  • Challenge/Updates: 1
  • Teaser/Top Ten Tuesday combo posts: 1
  • WWW Wednesday: 3
  • Reviews: 1

Yeah, only six posts this month. Still, one of those was a review, so that’s good.

Overall, March was a bit of a mixed bag, and dealing with some health issues (mental and physical) certainly didn’t help. Reading is still going strong, so I’m happy about that. Hoping to get the blog back up to snuff in April.

  1. My Goodreads goal is 10 books- only finished 2 books so far this year

    March- “Under the Whispering Door”

  2. I hope April treats you better, and that you start feeling more like yourself again. Eight books is still a pretty big number! Be proud of yourself for what you did accomplish!!
