Teaser Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by Ambrosia at The Purple Booker. Here are the rules if you want to play along:
- Grab your current read
- Open to a random page
- Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
- BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
- Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
This week’s teaser is from Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin.
Sadie liked the phrase “an abundance of caution.” It reminded her of a murder of crows, a flock of seagulls, a pack of wolves. She imagined that “caution” was a creature of some kind – maybe a cross between a Saint Bernard and an elephant. A large, intelligent, friendly animal that could be counted on to defend the Green sisters from threats, existential and otherwise.
This book is really good so far. I can see why it won the 2022 GoodReads award.

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s topic is:
Top Ten Favorite Reads of 2022
2022 was a weird reading year for me, mostly because it was dominated by two large series. Here are my ten favorites for the year.
- The Stardust Thief by Chelsea Abdullah
- Queen of Air and Darkness by Cassandra Clare
- Truth of the Divine by Lindsay Ellis
- Caraval by Stephanie Garber
- The Ten Thousand Doors of January by Alix E. Harrow
- Pachinko by Lee Min Jin
- Becoming by Michelle Obama
- The Cartographers by Peng Shephard
- Daughter of the Moon Goddess by Sue Lynn Tan
- Still Just a Geek by Wil Wheaton
I still need to do a yearly recap, but I will work on that later this week. I also need to outline my goals for this year. I’ve set them (for the most part), but I need to actually get them down on my blog to be official. 🙂
Please leave your teasers and top tens in comments!

Caraval is one of my all-time favorites. Hope you enjoy the whole series 😀
I did! I read them all last year, just didn’t want to list them all in this list. Last year had a lot of good reads. 🙂
You’ve got some great books on your list, particularly Becoming. I loved Wil Wheaton’s Just a Geek, how have I not read the sequel? I’m glad to hear you liked it.
It was really good. He has a lot of commentary about the things he wrote originally, sort of notes to his past self, including when he thought his younger self had written something problematic. Very introspective.
#5 and #7 were so good! Glad they made your list!
So good indeed! I’m so glad I read them last year!
It looks like you had a great year of reading! I hope that 2023 is another great year for you.

Thanks! Happy New Year!
None of these made my list this year, but I have read and enjoyed two which made my best-of lists previously, Caraval and Becoming, so glad to see you enjoyed both of those as much as I did!

Caraval was amazing. I loved that whole series. Becoming was an unexpected read for me – I don’t usually read biographies but that one was a book club pick. I’m so glad it was because it was great.
Me too! I was the same actually, my mum got it for me for Christmas the year it came out and I’d really only very occasionally read memoirs before I read it, but Becoming really turned me onto them and I’ve read quite a few since!
The Ten Thousand Doors of January was so amazing. I’m glad you enjoyed it too. 🙂

Becoming was one of my favorites a few years ago. I’m glad you enjoyed it!
