Hello everyone! I am starting something new here at the blog, inspired by the ladies at Bitchy Bookworms over on Facebook. I’ve never really broken down my yearly goals into monthly updates, so that’s what I’m going to start doing. On the first of every month, we will take a look back at the previous month, our reading progress, goal progress, etc.
Not a completely new concept, but new for me. Should be fun!
Here is my progress for July 2022!
I got five books read for the month. Thanks to MJ the Bibliophile for the template (go check her out – she has many beautiful templates for TBRs, goals, and other fun stuff).
- Bone Magic by Yasmine Galenorn (Otherworld/Sisters of the Moon #7)
- Finale by Stephanie Garber (Caraval #3)
- Still Just a Geek: An Annotated Memoir by Wil Wheaton
- Harvest Hunting by Yasmine Galenorn (Otherworld/Sisters of the Moon #8)
- The Demon King by Cinda Williams Chima (Seven Realms #1)
Link on The Demon King goes to the review I posted of it back when I first read it in 2012. The rest, well . . . I will get caught up on reviews at some point. I’m just not sure when that point will be.
I also have something else in the works to use for these monthly wrap-up posts, but you’ll have to wait until my August month in review to see it.
GoodReads reading challenge: I am currently sitting at 36 out of 60 books read for the year. According to GoodReads, this means that I am 2 books ahead of schedule. Yay!
Complete the Series challenge: I have 44 series on my list that need to be completed. My goal was to complete six of them this year. I don’t know if that will happen or not – I’ve only completed two so far (the Fire and Thorns series by Rae Carson and the Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children series by Ransom Riggs). I do, however, have two other series in progress: the Seven Realms series by Cinda Williams Chima and the Otherworld/Sisters of the Moon series by Yasmine Galenorn. I have no idea if I’ll finish the Otherworld books, as there are 21 books in that series, but I’m halfway through book #9 right now, so maybe?
I think there is a chance I can get up to six series as long as I can avoid any more reading slumps for the year. The good news is that I haven’t added to my list – I’ve completed all new series that I’ve read so far. I made sure to make that part of my goal.
While my reading has been good, my blog posting has not been great. I only posted four times in July and all of them were either Teaser/Top Ten Tuesday or WWW Wednesday. Those are easy posts that I can do when I am overwhelmed or don’t have time for much else. I feel like I can at stay involved with the book blogging community if I can at least keep up with these two days, but I want to focus on doing more.
Here are my posts for the month:
- Teasers & Top Tens – July 5, 2022
- WWW Wednesday – July 6, 2022
- Teasers & Top Tens – July 12, 2022
- WWW Wednesday – July 13, 2022
Overall, I am very happy with how my July reading went, and although my blog needs improvement, I have high hopes that August will be better!
