www-wednesday

WWW is a weekly feature hosted by Sam at Taking On a World of Words. Three questions, three answers. Let’s go!

What did you recently finish reading?

FinaleI finally finished Finale by Stephanie Garber! I’m so excited! This was the last book in the Caraval trilogy and it was just so good. The entire series was excellent. It’s one of those book worlds that I am sad to leave because I just want to exist in it for a bit longer. I don’t know what else Stephanie Garber has written (haven’t looked it up yet) but I definitely want to find more. She is an excellent writer.

Reviews will be coming at some point. Instead of having a reading slump, I am having a review-writing slump. Like, I don’t know what to say and then a lot of time passes and I’ve forgotten what I had wanted to say originally. I have fallen behind on reviews quite a bit, but will try to catch up soon.

Still Just a GeekWhat are you currently reading?

I am very excited about this one, so much so that I’ve been reading it pretty much non-stop. I am currently reading Still Just a Geek by Wil Wheaton and it is probably one of the best books I’ve read this year. I’ve been a fan of Wil’s for a very long time, from watching The Next Generation with my family as kid to rediscovering him as an adult with webseries like The Guild and TableTop. I knew he was a pretty cool guy, but had no idea just how much he was going through behind the scenes. My respect for him has grown by leaps and bounds (and it was already pretty big to begin with).

Harvest HuntingI also started Harvest Hunting by Yasmine Galenorn, book #8 in the Otherworld/Sisters of the Moon series. This one is told from the point of view of my favorite of the three sisters, so I am really enjoying it. Definitely going faster than Bone Magic did. I am starting to come to grips with the fact that I will probably not finish this series this year. And that’s okay. There are so many books in this series that it was going to be a long shot anyway. I would have to stop reading everything else and focus strictly on these books and I don’t really want to do that. I have other goals I am trying to achieve for my year in reading, so this will have to wait. I should be able to finish the series next year though, so that will be exciting.

What do you think you’ll read next?

The Demon KingI’m going with another series on my “Complete the Series” challenge list. My original goal was to try and complete six series on that list, but it’s already July and I’ve only done two. Don’t get me wrong – I’m glad I’ve made at least a little bit of progress – but I’ll need to really step up my game if I want to get through four more. Next stop is the Seven Realms series with The Demon King by Cinda Williams Chima. I’ve read this book before back in 2012 but don’t remember much about it other than the fact that I really liked it. Never got around to reading the other three books in the series, but we can take care of that. My library doesn’t have them in physical copies unfortunately, but does have all of them available as e-books. And since they aren’t recent releases, it doesn’t look like there’s a wait on them, which is nice. I’m going to start just as soon as I finish Still Just a Geek, which should be later today.

That’s it for me this week! Please leave your WWW in comments!

  1. I love it when you get into a series and then see what else is out there by the author.

That’s great about the Wil Wheaton book. I need to find a non fiction book like that!

    Have a great week!
