This week’s teaser comes from The Conference of the Birds by Ransom Riggs, book #5 in the Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children series.

Miss Peregrine stood up from the desk, steady on her feet now. “Then we will find out what the hell it is,” she said, “and we will stop the wights from getting it.”

. . .

“And decorate Devil’s Acre with their heads!” cried Hugh, and a cheer went up.

For the first time in days, I saw him crack a wavering smile.

I am omitting a sentence from my teaser as it does contain a rather big spoiler from the beginning of the series, but the rest of it was too good not to share. I really love how this story is progressing and can’t wait to see how things end up.
