Imagine you owned a bookstore. What would it look like?
That’s the dream of every bibliophile, isn’t it! I would love to own a bookstore, although I’m sure it’s a lot more work than I think it is. I would definitely have it decorated in natural tones – wood floors with soft throw rugs, overstuffed chairs scattered throughout the shelves. I would also have a rustic stone fireplace with a sofa and chairs around it. There would be a beverage shop inside – more than a coffee shop, since not everyone enjoys coffee, but with a broader selection of drinks and a few light snacks.
I would also have a few sectioned off areas that people could reserve, including one in a small loft area. These would be available for book clubs, craft groups, and anyone else who wants a nice place to gather. I would make sure that the entire place was always decorated seasonally – maybe not for each holiday (with a few exceptions, of course), but right now, there would be a ton of fall leaves and colors strewn everywhere. My bookstore would have a bit of a messy vibe. Lived in. Controlled chaos. But it would feel incredibly homey and everyone who comes in would feel like a welcomed guest.
