Book Blogger Hop – June 26, 2026

Book Blogger Hop is a weekly feature hosted by Billy at Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer. Each week, a new book related question is posted and everyone can share their answers. This week’s question is:

Do you prefer writing long, detailed reviews or quick, punchy ones?

My reviews would definitely be on the longer side of the spectrum. I wish I was better at writing the quicker reviews. I tried that, sort of, when I would do my audio book review posts. Since those were all re-reads that already had longer reviews, I wanted to write a quick review of the audio book version specifically, since that can completely change how a book is presented. It felt a little weird, but it was fun.

Be sure to check out the other answers of this week’s Book Blogger Hop and let me know what style of reviews you prefer!

  1. Mine are also on the longer spectrum LOL. I find the quicker ones not flowing that greatly.

  2. I always write long ones too. I always look to see whether there is anything that I can take out, but end up leaving it all in!

    Have a great weekend!

  3. I like that idea of writing shorter reviews for audiobook re-reads while focusing on the narration and listening experience. That seems like a great way to complement your original review rather than repeat it. I tend to fall somewhere in the middle with my reviews, but I always enjoy seeing how other bloggers approach them. Happy Reading! 📚

    • Audio books are such a different medium. I sometimes have a hard time focusing on an audio book, which is why I have exclusively listened to re-reads, but since the audio adds so much to the experience, it seemed fitting to add to the review as well.
