Since I don’t really have anything for the Top Ten Tuesday topic this week, I figured I’d go ahead and get my Month in Review out of the way. April was a weird month, with really high highs and very low lows. Here’s how things went reading-wise:
April Reads
- The Girl in the Tower by Katherine Arden
- The Winter of the Witch by Katherine Arden
- Not Quite Dead Yet by Holly Jackson
- The Everlasting by Alix E. Harrow
Only four books, but that’s sort of been my pace these days, about one book per week (or a little less, in this case).
Challenge Updates
GoodReads Challenge: My goal was to read 52 books this year. As of the end of April, I have 18 books read, which is 1 book ahead of schedule!
GoodReads Choice Awards Challenge: My goal was to read all of the winners of the GoodReads Choice Awards from last year. In April, I read Not Quite Dead Yet, the winner for Best Mystery/Thriller, bringing my total to 4 of 13 read. I need to step up my game on this one, because I feel like I’m slacking a little, but I’m currently reading another one and will hopefully get one more out of the way in May as well.
Beat the Backlist: No new squares to add to my board, as this month was all new books read. I’m still feeling up in the air about this challenge as a whole, so we’ll see if anything else comes of it.
Blog Updates
April started off well enough for the blog, but towards the end of the month, I got super busy and wasn’t able to do as much. Eh, it happens. Breakdown as follows:
- Month in Review: 1
- Top Ten Tuesday: 2
- WWW Wednesday: 3
- Book Blogger Hop: 2
- Sunday Post: 1
- Review: 1
Yeah, only 10 posts, and most of them were the first week.
Shop Updates
As I mentioned before, Tabby Cat Textiles is sort of on hold right now. There are still several things available, and I am working on some new items to post, which will hopefully be done soon. I’m also experimenting with some new patterns in order to get some new options in there. I was going to try and crochet some items for the warmer months, but nothing has really stuck yet. I’m a cool weather girl and I think that will stay the main focus of this shop.
The good news is that I have a few more ideas for other things that might be featured soon. Still working out the details, but I will be sure to let everyone know once that is up and running.
Overall, April was just a weird month. Not bad, just weird. I’m hoping May will let me get out of this funk and back into doing the things I enjoy.
