WWW Wednesday – March 20, 2024

WWW Wednesday is a weekly feature hosted by Sam at Taking On A World Of Words. Three questions, three answers. Let’s go!

What did you recently finish reading?

The good thing about a slight reading slump is that even though I haven’t posted in a few weeks, I don’t have a whole lot to update. My last WWW was on February 28th and I finished both of the books I had been working on then. My audio book at the time was The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern, narrated by Jim Dale, and it was so wonderful. I love that book so much. I also finished The Midnight Library by Matt Haig and absolutely loved that as well. I also started a new audio book series with Pawn of Prophecy by David Eddings, book #1 in the Belgariad. My library has all five of these books, plus the five books of the companion series (the Mallorean), so that should keep me good and busy with audio books for a while. I had wanted to listen to The Iron King by Julie Kagawa, but I’m having a hard time finding it. Oh well. I’m enjoying David Eddings instead. He was my introduction to fantasy back in the day, so it’s been fun to revisit.

What are you currently reading?

I finally got to start Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor, but progress has been slow. I’m not sure why – I really like the story so far – but it’s just been difficult to pick up. I am also listening to Queen of Sorcery by David Eddings, book #2 of the Belgariad, for my audio book. I’ve been mostly listening to it on my way to work, but I’m also starting to take walks in the afternoons after I get off work, so it’s been nice to listen to then as well. I am also reading Mad Honey by Jodi Picoult and Jennifer Finney Boylan. This is my book club pick for March and I’m excited to read it because, although I know she is very popular and a very prolific author, I’ve never actually read anything by Jodi Picoult.

What do you think you’ll read next?

I think I will go straight from Strange the Dreamer into Muse of Nightmares by Laini Taylor. This is contingent on me actually being able to get through Strange – again, not the book’s fault. It’s totally my brain being dumb. I will also be listening to Magician’s Gambit by David Eddings, book #3 in the Belgariad. That one I know for sure.

That’s my reading for the week! Please leave your WWW in comments!
