Teasers & Top Tens – March 19, 2024

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by Ambrosia at The Purple Booker. Here are the rules if you want to play along:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

This week’s teaser comes from Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor.

And that’s how you go on. You lay laughter over the dark parts. The more dark parts, the more you have to laugh. With defiance, with abandon, with hysteria, any way you can.

I’m really feeling this one right now. Real life has been absolutely kicking my butt lately – physically, mentally, emotionally.

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s topic is:

Ten Books On My Spring 2024 TBR

As I mentioned before, I am really struggling right now and, unfortunately, my reading progress is usually the first thing to go. It’s so much easier to just scroll through Instagram without thinking. For the spring, I am going to try and get back on track as much as I can. Here’s a brief idea of what I may read for this upcoming season.

  1. Muse of Nightmares by Laini Taylor
  2. Magician’s Gambit by David Eddings
  3. Castle of Wizardry by David Eddings
  4. Enchanter’s End Game by David Eddings
  5. The Measure by Nikki Erlick
  6. The Name of the Star by Maureen Johnson
  7. The Madness Underneath by Maureen Johnson
  8. The Shadow Cabinet by Maureen Johnson
  9. Echoes of Old Souls by Nika Harper
  10. Dion: A Tale of the Highway by Jonathan Maas

The David Eddings books are my current audio book picks – the Belgariad series was the first series that got me into fantasy and it’s been nearly ten years since I read it. Since I’ve not been making much progress on my challenges, I’m hoping to finish the Shades of London series by Maureen Johnson for “Complete the Series” as well as add a couple more to my “Beat the Backlist” with Echoes of Old Souls and Dion.

It’s just a basic plan. We’ll see how it actually goes.

Please leave your teasers and top tens in comments!
