Hi everyone! So . . . yeah, April was a weird month for me. I’ve been in a bad headspace for most of it and a lot of my physical health issues have been steadily getting worse. It means that I had my first reading slump for the year as I just stopped caring about reading or blogging for a while. It is my goal to try and get over a lot of that going into May, but let’s take a look at the small progress that I did make for April.

April Reads

Yep, only four books this month. Definitely not my best, but I’ve definitely had worse. I’m skipping over the reading stats graph this month just because it looks very sad. Also, the last book I read didn’t really have page numbers so it was a bit hard to track.

Challenge Updates

GoodReads Challenge: My goal for this year was to read 100 books. As of the end of April, I have read 29 books. According to GoodReads, I am currently three books behind schedule to make it to 100. While I’m a bit bummed to be behind for the first time this year, it’s also not that far off. I can catch up.

Complete the Series: My goal was to finish six series on my list (you can see the list here). I am happy to say that, this month, I added another completed series to the challenge since I finished the Mara Dyer series! That brings my count of completed series up to three! That’s halfway there for the year!

Beat the Backlist: My goal was to read 25 books off of my owned TBR lists (i.e., the books that I own but haven’t read yet – there’s a lot). This month, I only read one more book for this challenge – The Girl In Between.  My total so far for the year is 11 books read, so that’s still pretty good! I’m close to halfway done with it and I’m no where near halfway through the year yet!

A-to-Z Challenge: In April, I added two more letters to my A-to-Z challenge. I’m pretty happy with the progress so far and plan to add quite a few more next month. This gives me 14 letters filled in, which is more than halfway through the alphabet, and I’m already trying to look ahead to letters that may be harder to find. Here are the letters I did this month:

Blog Updates

I really wanted to skip this section, but that wouldn’t be right. The blog was a neglected mess this month and I might as well own that. Is it the end of the world? Of course not. Does it still make me a bit sad? A little, yeah.

Four posts for the whole month. Meh. Hey, at least one of them was a review! That’s something at least!

I have some plans and goals to try and get back into the swing of things for May. I definitely miss reading and blogging when I don’t do it, but once that mental health kicks in, it’s hard to feel productive about anything. Here’s hoping that May gets better!
