Teaser Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by Ambrosia at The Purple Booker. Here are the rules if you want to play along:
- Grab your current read
- Open to a random page
- Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
- BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
- Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
This week’s teaser comes from Chain of Iron by Cassandra Clare, book #2 in The Last Hours series.
I have been running away from you for two years. Why should I stop now? Anna thought. Thought if she had to admit it to herself, she’d been doing a poor job of running these past few weeks.
Anna is definitely a side character, but she is one of my favorite parts of this series so far. I love her!

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s topic:
Genre Freebie!!
This week we get to choose our topic as long as it is centered around genre. Y’all know that one of my favorite genres is fantasy. For a while that was all I read! I think you’re the first person I’ve seen say they love The Starless Sea. That book made my favorites list as soon as I finished reading it. It’s so beautiful.
Really? I really enjoyed it, although I know I have to re-read it at some point because I’m sure I missed stuff the first go around.
I haven’t read any of these books yet, but they do sound good.

I definitely recommend all of them. 🙂
I enjoyed The Ten Thousand Doors of January, too!
It’s a beautiful book!
A Curse So Dark and Lonely is the only one of these I’ve read and I liked it but didn’t love it, so I never read on in the series.

I remember really liking it when I read it when it first came out, but then never picked up the rest of the books later on. I probably will later at some point.
Chain of Gold and Daughter of the Moon Goddess are both great!
teaser from Men at Arms- “A great many rulers, good and bad and quite often dead, know what happened; a rare few actually manage, by dint of much effort, to know what’s happening. Lord Vetinari considered both types to lack ambition.”

I really enjoyed Chain of Gold and just finished Chain of Iron yesterday. Hopefully starting Chain of Thorns tomorrow.
#6 was a great book! I would include it if I wrote a similar list.
It was so good!
