The doors closed after him. My anger roiling over, I snatched his cup and hurled it at the wall, the delicate porcelain shattering into countless fragments – impossible to ever be made whole again.
She sounds angry, yes, but boy does she have a good reason!

Ten Most Recent Additions to My Book Collection
The holidays are mostly over, so I can list a few (not quite ten) that I received as gifts.
First, I received my Secret Santa gift from the TBTBSanta exchange! Thanks to Essentially Ash for these three lovely books:
- Truly Devious by Maureen Johnson
- Pretty Girl-13 by Liz Coley
- A Danger to Herself and Others by Alyssa B. Sheinmel
I also received a book as a gift from my in-laws! They are so awesome and I love them so much. I just wish they didn’t live half the country away. Anyway, they got me this classic:
- Parable of the Sower by Octavia E. Butler
Lastly is a book that I haven’t technically purchased yet, but I will be buying it with one of my gift cards for next month’s book club read over at Fable, so I’m going to count it.
- Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin
That’s not ten books, only five, but I am so excited to read them all eventually. And this number of books received may change because . . . today is my birthday! Yep, I was almost a Christmas baby. I don’t think I’ll be getting any new books today, but you never know. 🙂
