WWW Wednesday – November 10, 2021

WWW Wednesday is a weekly feature hosted by Sam at Taking On a World of Words. Three questions, three answers. Let’s go!

What did you recently finish reading?

You guys! Last week, not only did I finish reading a book . . . I finished TWO books! Huzzah! It’s been a while since I’ve been able to do that! So last week, I finished Daisy Jones & the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid and I absolutely loved it. Such a great story and such a fun, interesting way to tell it! There was a little twist at the end that makes me want to re-read it at some point to see how it changes knowing that bit at the beginning. I also finished reading Witchling by Yasmine Galenorn, book #1 in the Otherworld/Sisters of the Moon series. This was a re-read for me, as I want to try and finish this series at some point, but it’s a bit of a time commitment (21 books – yikes). I read quite a few of them back in 2014, but never finished the series. I think I was waiting for the next books to be released, but then never got a chance to actually read them. It’s a fun series, a sexy paranormal romance with all sorts of twists and turns. I’m looking forward to going through it again and seeing where the series ends up.

What are you currently reading?

I had mentioned last week that I was thinking about reading Queen Mab by Kate Danley, so I decided to go ahead and start that one. I didn’t know much about it, only that it was one of the few standalone novels on my TBR and I don’t want to jump into another series while I’m trying to read Otherworld. Turns out, this book is perfect for me, as it is about the famous fae queen getting involved with the story of Romeo and Juliet. Faeries and Shakespeare? Sign me up! I’m also starting Changeling by Yasmine Galenorn, book #2 in the Otherworld/Sisters of the Moon series. This series is about three sisters and the books cycle their view points between them. The first book was told by the sister who is a witch. The second one is told by the sister who is a shapeshifter. A werecat, to be precise. She changes into a tabby. It’s adorable. The third sister is a vampire, in case you were curious.

What do you think you’ll read next?

I’m never completely sure, am I. Definitely Darkling by Yasmine Galenorn, book #3 in Otherworld/Sisters of the Moon. I might have to dig through my shelves and see what I come up with. I’m also going to YallFest this weekend and might end up with some new books there which could change things. Who knows? I’m excited about YallFest though – it’s been a few years since I’ve been able to go. I didn’t go last year (for obvious reasons) and I don’t think I went the year before because of other crap going on in my life at the time. So yeah, I’m really looking forward to it. Plus it will be a nice, relaxing getaway just by myself, so that should be really nice.
