What did you recently finish reading?

I finished another book this week! Huzzah! I probably won’t make it to my GoodReads goal of 50 books this year, but I’m going to get at least somewhat close, and that’s good enough for me. Especially since this year has been so crazy. I’m currently sitting at 36 books for the year, so technically I could do it if I speed read a bunch of stuff, but I don’t see that happening. But that’s okay. Anyway, I finished reading Between the Spark and the Burn by April Genevieve Tucholke. This is the second book in the Between duology, which is technically the fourth series I’ve completed off my “Complete the Series” challenge for the year. So yay! Progress!

What are you currently reading?

I am currently reading Daisy Jones & the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid and I am really loving it so far. I think I’m about half way through it at the moment? Or something like that? I also started reading Witchling by Yasmine Galenorn. This is the first book in her Otherworld/Sisters of the Moon series, which is another series that I started and never completed. I’m not necessarily going for finishing another series this year, and this series is crazy long (21 books or something like that), but I figure that if I don’t get started, it will sit there unfinished forever. I’ve read quite a few of them, but it was years ago and I don’t remember all the specifics. Besides, they are just super fun and sexy paranormal stuff.

What do you think you’ll read next?

I’ve been going through my Books-I-Own-But-Never-Read TBR trying to decide where to go next. I’m thinking that I am going to read Queen Mab by Kate Danley. It’s sort of a retelling of Romeo and Juliet but leaning heavily into faerie influences from what I can see. Sounds interesting. I got it off of Book Bub ages ago and never got around to reading it. Plus it’s a standalone novel, which I don’t have a lot of on my list. I really don’t want to start another series right now. I will also read Changeling by Yasmine Galenorn, which is the next Otherworld book. I will be reading those for a while if I want to finally finish that particular series.
