This week’s teaser comes from Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi.

“We’re here, and it’s nighttime. So according to my calculations, we must not have done anything stupid.”

So yeah, this hasn’t been on my radar of things to read, but it is the earliest on my TBR list on GoodReads for the books that I own, so I figured I’d give it a go. So far it’s interesting. Mafi has a very unusual writing style. It’s good, but taking some getting used to.

Books I Read In One Sitting

I haven’t read that many books in one sitting, mostly because it’s hard for me to do that anymore. Actually it usually happens at night, when I have a book that I can’t put down and then suddenly it’s 2 AM. That makes for a good time at work the next day, let me tell you!

So without further ado, here is my list:

1. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J.K. Rowling – This was a long book and yes, I pretty much finished it overnight. This was the first HP book that I got at a midnight release party. I started on the way home and read it all throughout the night.
2. If I Stay by Gayle Forman – I actually read this one on a Saturday, starting it in the morning and finishing it later that evening. I had so many other things that I needed to do that day, but I just couldn’t put it down.
3. Paper Towns by John Green – I didn’t intend to finish this one in one sitting, but it happened anyway. Especially once I got to the road trip section (if you’ve read it, you know).
4. Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes – I had to keep reading this one. I had to know what was going to happen, especially once I saw the direction it was heading. I was so hoping for a different ending for Charlie (and for Algernon too, obviously). I couldn’t stop reading until I knew for sure.
5. Mosquitoland by David Arnold – I do have a thing for road trip books. There is something about that trope in a novel that just keeps me glued to the page. I want to see where they’re going, see if they find what they’re looking for.
6. The Rules for Disappearing by Ashley Elston – I reread this one this year, but the first time I read it was in one sitting. There were so many questions, so many mysteries surrounding the main character that I had to know the answers to. I couldn’t help myself.
7. The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time by Mark Haddon – This book is just absolutely brilliant in every way. I don’t know how you couldn’t read this in one sitting. 

That’s it for me this week. On a personal note, I am trying very hard to get back into blogging again. I miss doing it but have had a lot of things going on in my life that make concentrating on something like this a bit difficult. I’ve been trying to focus on reading more, at least a little bit every day, and that has helped some. Hoping to get back to a more regular blogging schedule soon.
