Teaser Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by Ambrosia at The Purple Booker. Here are the rules if you want to play along:
- Grab your current read
- Open to a random page
- Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
- BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
- Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
This week’s teaser comes from The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien.
Next day Frodo woke early, feeling refreshed and well. He walked along the terraces above the loud-flowing Bruinen and watched the pale, cool sun rise above the far mountains, and shine down slanting through the thin silver mist; the dew upon the yellow leaves was glimmering, and the woven nets of gossamer twinkled on every bush. Sam walked beside him, saying nothing, but sniffing the air, and looking every now and again with wonder in his eyes and the great heights in the East. The snow was white upon their peaks.
We’ve made it to Rivendell, folks!

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s topic is:
Top Ten Colorful Book Covers
It’s been way too long since I did a Top Ten Tuesday and this topic sounded like fun. Just to make it more interesting (or more complicated), I decided to try and pick a book cover to match ten specific colors. While there might be other colors in the picture, the color chosen will be the main color featured. Thank goodness for GoodReads, as that made this so much easier!
1). White – The Iron Daughter (Iron Fey #2) by Julie Kagawa (review)
2). Pink – Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins (review)
3). Red – Fire (Graceling #2) by Kristin Cashore (review)
4). Orange – Axiom’s End by Lindsay Ellis (review)
5). Yellow – Hyperbole and a Half by Allie Brosh
6). Green – The Girl with the Iron Touch (Steampunk Chronicles #3) by Kady Cross
7). Blue – Shiver (Wolves of Mercy Falls #1) by Maggie Stiefvater
8). Purple – Unhinged (Splintered #2) by A.G. Howard (review)
9). Brown – The Story of Awkward by R.K. Ryals
10). Black – Looking for Alaska by John Green (review)
This was a fun topic, although some of these could work for multiple colors – Unhinged has a lot of purple and blue in it and I had to ask my husband whether he thought the cover for Axiom’s End was orange or red. I wanted to try and stick to only books that I have read, so if you want to know more about these books, I’ve added links to the ones I’ve written reviews for. Some don’t have reviews – either they are upcoming or were read back when I wasn’t blogging.
Please leave your teasers and top tens in comments!

Anna and the French Kiss was such an obvious choice for me as well! The whole series all have colorful covers (at least those editions do) and they’re all cute reads so that helps. Happy reading!

Those books are such fun reads. I love Stephanie Perkins!
I really like how you did your top 10! Beautiful covers!
Thanks! It seemed like a fun way to do it. Plus I do love all of those covers.
I loved the Rivendell section of the LoTR trilogy. Enjoy!
And The Story of Awkward sounds good.

It’s good, but I forgot just how loooooonnnggg the Council of Elrond chapter was. Really wish they had kept their discussion more pithy.
Great teaser! Thanks for sharing, and here’s mine: “THE SMASH-UP”
Thanks!
I love the colours on the Fire cover.

All the covers for that series are so beautiful. Check out the cover art for Graceling and Bitterblue if you have the chance. So pretty!
I think I’ve seen them both at bookshops, very pretty! I just wish I’d enjoyed Graceling more.
Fun twist on the topic! SHIVER is the only book I’ve read on your list and that was forever ago. Even though I’m not really interested in the books, I’ve always thought those Kagawa books had lovely covers.
Happy TTT!

Thanks! The Iron Fey series is really, really good. And all the covers are gorgeous.
