www-wednesday

WWW Wednesday is a weekly feature hosted by Sam at Taking On a World of Words. Three questions, three answers. Let’s go!

What did you recently finish reading?

Several things, actually. Since last week, I finished Each of Us a Desert by Mark Oshiro. Such a beautiful book. I can’t wait to write the review for that one. I also finished The Bone Charmer by Breeana Shields. I have reviewed that one previously as part of a blog tour (you can check that out here) and it was really fun to read it again. I had forgotten just how much I enjoyed it. I also started and almost immediately finished Dear Evan Hansen by Val Emmich, Steven Levenson, Benj Pasek and Justin Paul. I actually just finished it last night and had to immediately binge watch videos of the musical on YouTube. I have so many feelings right now!

What are you currently reading?

I am still reading Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas for Nerdist Book Club. I really want to catch up to what they are reading currently, but this one took a back seat so I could finish a few other things. Since it’s a re-read for me, I’m not putting it as a high priority. I also started The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien. This one is also going to take a while. Tolkien is not an author that you can read through quickly.

What do you think you’ll read next?

I will definitely be reading The Bone Thief by Breeana Shields, book #2 in The Bone Charmer series. I am pretty sure that this series only has the two books in it, so that will be another series to check off my “Complete the Series” list. I also need a new book from my TBR for the “Beat the Backlist” challenge. I’ve been trying to pick out standalone novels instead of starting more series, so I think I will go with but I’m also looking at the prompts that the challenge has given. One of those prompts is to read an anthology, which I don’t usually read, but I do have one in my TBR: Once Upon a Curse: 17 Dark Faerie Tales by Yasmine Galenorn et al. GoodReads lists this as technically the first book in a series, but really it’s just several collections of short stories, all fairy tale retellings based on a theme, whether it’s romance or ghosts or one that is sci-fi inspired. It’s not all one continuing story, so I’m not counting it as a series I need to finish (although I may still do it, who knows – I don’t read enough short stories). Of the authors in this anthology, the only one I’ve read before is Galenorn, so I get to read some new folks! Should be fun!
