Title: Logan Likes Mary Anne!
Author: Ann M. Martin
Series: The Baby-Sitters Club #10
Blurb: It used to be that Mary Anne had to wear her hair in braids and ask her dad before did anything. But not anymore. Mary Anne has been growing up…and the Baby-sitters Club members aren’t the only ones who’ve noticed.
Logan Bruno likes Mary Anne! He has a dreamy southern accent, he’s awfully cute – and he wants to join the Baby-sitters Club.
The Baby-sitters aren’t sure Logan will make a good club member. And Mary Anne thinks she’s too shy for Logan. Life in the Baby-sitters Club has never been this complicated – or this fun!
Review: I love that Mary Anne, the quiet and super shy member of the group, is the first one to have a steady boyfriend! How cool is that! I’ve mentioned before that Mary Anne was the main member of the BSC that I related to. I was super shy growing up. Well, to be honest, I’m still pretty shy, I’ve just learned how to hide it better. But still! I have always related to Mary Anne and seeing the shy girl get the guy in the end was very encouraging to little twelve year old me.
Especially since . . . . Logan is such a sweetheart!!!!! He’s cute, he likes kids, he likes cats, HE’S PERFECT!!! Not only does he understand that Mary Anne is shy, he is really cool about it and helps her feel better. The scene where Mary Anne goes to her first dance and her shoe flies off is embarrassing and Mary Anne needs to get out of there. Not only does Logan not make fun of her or ditch her, he keeps coming back to check on her where she’s hiding out on the bleachers. He’s not pushy about her coming back to the dance floor, he leaves her alone when she asks him to, and shows that he genuinely cares that she is upset and wants to try and help. BOYS LIKE THIS DIDN’T EXIST IN MY MIDDLE SCHOOL, OKAY!! .
I loved this book. I love that Logan is now a member of the BSC, but sort of an outside member, so he doesn’t have to come to meetings (that was awkward!). And I love that Mary Anne is in love!

I remember devouring these books when I was younger. Haven’t read them in over a decade though!
It’s so fun going back and revisiting all of them. It’s been over 20 years since I’ve read any of these, but a lot of them really hold up. 🙂
