Weekly Wrap-Up

Y’all, I am so burned out.

Work has been crazy. My kiddo’s school stuff has been crazy. Home hasn’t been too crazy, but it hasn’t been calm either. And now I’m getting ready to go into rehearsals for a new show. It’s just . . . . it’s a lot.

That’s why that this weekend, the last free weekend I’ll have in a while, I am going away. Just me, by myself. I am checking into a hotel after work today and I am staying there until Sunday afternoon. Nothing but quiet relaxing time where I can be alone, catch up on some of my TV and YouTube shows, and work on some crochet. It’s going to be GLORIOUS!

It’s important to unplug and detox every once in a while. I can’t do it very often, but I can do it right now and I am jumping on that. My only wish is that I could take my cats with me, or at least one of them. But that would be way too much hassle. They’ll be fine.

Seriously though, kitten cuddles would make this getaway even better.

Let’s get to some stats.

Reading summary October 4th-10th

  • I read chapters 19 through 35 of The Smallest Thing by Lisa Manterfield, finishing this book. You can check out my review here.
  • I read chapters 1 through 7 of Siren Song by Alex Hayes, the third book in the Chameleon Effect series. It’s so nice to be back in this story world!
  • I read chapters 1 through 9 of Angel Mage by Garth Nix. It’s good so far, but it’s a very dense fantasy story world. Not a bad thing, but it’s a lot to keep track of.
  • I read chapters 8 and 9 of A Torch Against the Night by Sabaa Tahir. Poor progress, but at least progress. I’m hoping to read a lot of this one during my detox weekend away.

As far as reading challenges go, I am currently sitting at 61 books read this year for my GoodReads challenge. Not too shabby considering that my goal was 50! I am very pleased with how this is going!

Have a wonderful weekend, lovelies! I’ll be around with some fun posts, but mostly I am going to RELAX!!
