After a few minutes, O’Sah and Harriad come back into the cottage. They sit on the sofa, and it only just hits me how funny it is seeing them sat here, all crimson cloaks and otherworldliness, on my sofa.

This book is not starting off well for me, I have to be honest. Maybe it’s because I’m coming off such a great series finale, but there are a few things that are driving me a little crazy about this one. We’ll see how it goes.

Sorry you’re not feeling this one despite the rather cool title and premise. I loved the extract you posted – “crimson cloaks and otherworldliness” sounds good to me!
Sometimes coming off a great read affects the next one. Maybe it will get better for you????
