WWW Wednesday

WWW Wednesday is a weekly feature hosted by Sam at Taking On a World of Words. Three questions, three answers.

What are you currently reading?

You guys, I think I might be getting in a bit over my head. I’m reading six different books right now, and about to add a seventh one later today or tomorrow.

  1. Still reading Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J.K. Rowling for my Chapter-A-Long. This one has been ongoing the longest.
  2. I’m still reading Altered by Vicki Steifel for a blog tour coming up next week.
  3. I’m reading The Art of Taxidermy by Sharon Kernot as a NetGalley review. This is a book of poetry, so it’s shorter than most.
  4. I’m reading ISAN by Mary Ting. I am on a blog tour for the second book in this series, so I gotta read the first one first.
  5. I’m reading Stain by A.G. Howard for the “Read a book with a dreamy cover” prompt in the Disney-A-Thon.
  6. Finally, I’m reading Captive by Aimee Carter, the second book in the Blackcoat Rebellion series, to work towards my “Complete the Challenge” goal for the year.

That’s . . . that’s just a lot. One of these days, I need to show you guys my process for keeping up with all this stuff. It’s, well, it’s probably ridiculous. But it works for me.

What did you recently finish?

I’ve only finished one book since last Wednesday, and that was Pharaoh’s Star by Olivia Hardy Ray. This was for a blog tour later this month, but I am also using it for the Disney-A-Thon prompt “Read a dark/mysterious book.” This definitely fit that category. That’s not a lot finished last week, but I’m not too worried. My GoodReads goal currently states that I am nine books ahead of schedule!

What do you think you’ll read next?

I will be starting Winning Westeros: How Game of Thrones Explains Modern Military Conflict either today or tomorrow. This is a bit different from what I usually read. It’s a collection of essays relating how Game of Thrones relates to modern military theory, and is collected from military commanders, strategy experts, scholars, and fantasy authors. This one is for NetGalley, so I’m looking foward to it. I will also be reading Helix by Mary Ting, the second book in the ISAN series for the blog tour. The next book on the Disney-A-Thon that I’m reading is Brave New World by Aldous Huxley, which I will start whenever I finish Stain.

So many things going on! It’s a little overwhelming, but I got this. I mostly just want to make sure all my review/tour obligations are met, with a few other things thrown in on the side.

Hope everyone is having a good reading week! Please leave your WWW in comments!

WWW Wednesday

WWW Wednesday is a weekly feature hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words. Three questions, three answers. Let’s go!

What are you currently reading?

Several things. I’m trying to make sure I stay organized, because there’s a lot going on! I have two blog tours I am preparing for coming up later in August. One is for Altered by Vicki Stiefel. The other is Pharaoh’s Star by Olivia Ray Hardy, which I’m also using for a prompt in the Disney-A-Thon readathon. On top of that, I am reading Captive by Aimee Carter, the second book in the Blackcoat Rebellion series, as well as continuing with Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J.K. Rowling for my Chapter-A-Long posts.

What did you recently finish reading?

So many things!!! The most important one — I finally finished Kingdom of Ash by Sarah J. Maas!! The seventh and final book in the Throne of Glass series!! It was so good, y’all. So good. Review will be up on Thursday. Even better, I get to cross off another series from my “Complete the Series” challenge. That’s two out of the three I have challenged myself to finish this year! My next step in that goal is to finish the Blackcoat Rebellion series, which I think is only three books, so I did a quick re-read of Pawn by Aimee Carter. I had forgotten how much I liked that one!

But that’s not all. I also, since last Wednesday, finished How the Light Gets In by Katy Upperman for a blog tour, which you can read about here. I also got a nice response from the author on Twitter thanking me for the review! I love that! I also finished Perfect Pitch by Alex Hayes for another blog tour, which will be posted on Friday. I ALSO finished An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir. This was for my first prompt in the Disney-A-Thon readathon, so that was exciting. Go Team Tangled!

What do you think you’ll read next?

I will be starting The Art of Taxidermy by Sharon Kernot either tonight or tomorrow. This is a NetGalley ARC, so that’s always fun. My next book for the Disney-A-Thon will be Stain by A.G. Howard. I’ve had this one for a while, so I’m really looking forward to reading it. I will also be reading the third Blackcoat Rebellion book, Queen by Aimee Carter, which I’m pretty sure is the last book in that series. That will accomplish my goal of finishing three series that I had previously started for my “Complete the Series” challenge. I would love to try and sneak a few more in there, but we’ll see how the rest of the year shapes up.

That’s it for me! Lot’s of reading going on, which is great, but I’m also reading a lot of things that I don’t usually read, which is even better. Broadening my horizons a bit. Always a good thing!

What are you currently reading?

So many things, y’all. I am finding that I keep forgetting books that I am going to start reading, which is why last week for the “what are you going to read next” question, I forgot to put down Altered by Vicki Stiefel. This is for another blog tour later next month. I have several of those, which is fun. I’m also reading How the Light Gets In by Katy Upperman and Perfect Pitch by Alex Hayes (Chameleon Effect series book #2),  both also for blog tours. I am also still making progress on Kingdom of Ash by Sarah J. Maas and I am still working through Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J.K. Rowling for my Chapter-A-Long feature here on the blog.

What did you recently finish reading?

I finished Silken Scales by Alex Hayes (book #1 in the Chameleon Effect series) the end of last week, and finished Ever Alice by H.J. Ramsay yesterday. You’ll see my review for Ever Alice tomorrow, but you’ll have to wait until August 9th for Silken Scales, since it’s part of the blog tour. I also very quickly read You Were Here by Cori McCarthy, which was so good, I needed to immediately blog about it. You can find my review here.

What do you think you’ll read next?

Looking at my schedule this time, I see that I have another NetGalley review coming up soon: The Art of Taxidermy by Sharon Kernot. I will be starting that one in the next week or so. After that, I’m not sure. I have a few blog tour requests I’m waiting to hear back on, as well as some more NetGalley books I need to ask about. I need to focus on finishing Kingdom of Ash, so I may just double down on it before I get too many more new reads. That would put me closer to meeting my “Complete the Series” goal for this year. I wanted to finish up three series that I had previously started, and this would be #2! Which is cool!

Please leave your WWW in comments! I love to hear what you all are reading!

What are you currently reading?

I feel like I’m reading so many things! Between blog tours and NetGalley reviews, I have a lot going on. But that’s a good thing! It makes me feel productive! So currently, I am reading How the Light Gets In by Katy Upperman for a blog tour. This book is a bit heavy, as it deals with the subject of loss. I am also reading Silken Scales by Alex Hayes, book #1 in the Chameleon Effect series. This is for another blog tour and is a much lighter read. I should actually finish that one this afternoon, and it’s been really fun. I’m also reading Ever Alice by H.J. Ramsay for a NetGalley review and it is really fun as well. I love when people write about Alice in Wonderland and really capture a similar voice to Lewis Carroll. I also started Kingdom of Ash by Sarah J. Maas yesterday. This is the seventh and final book in the Throne of Glass series, so yay! Also still reading and blogging Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J.K. Rowling. Slow and steady wins that race!

So that’s five books I’m working on right now. Yikes.

What did you recently finish reading?

Well, if I started Kingdom of Ash, that means that I finally finished Tower of Dawn by Sarah J. Maas! Yay! That one took me a while to get into, but once I got there, it was awesome. Review coming tomorrow.

What do you think you’ll read next?

After I finish Silken Scales today or tomorrow, I will be starting Perfect Pitch by Alex Hayes, the second book in the Chameleon Effect series. Both books are on the blog tour, which is next month. I have a couple of other blog tours/review copies for later in August as well, but nothing coming up sooner than that. I think I’m primarily focusing on finishing these books for review, and then really focusing on finishing Kingdom of Ash. After that, I need to pick another series on my “Complete the Series” challenge to work on. I have some ideas, but no definite plans yet.

Hope everyone is having a great reading week! Please leave your WWW in comments!

WWW Wednesday is a weekly feature hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words. Three questions, three answers. Let’s go!

What are you currently reading?

Still making good progress on Tower of Dawn by Sarah J. Maas. Hoping to maybe finish it by next week, if I keep up the pace. I’m also reading Silken Scales by Alex Hayes for part of a blog tour next month. Also still plugging away at Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J.K. Rowling for my Chapter-A-Long project.

What did you recently finish reading?

Just finished Stranger Rituals by Kali Rose Schmidt for a blog tour last week. You can read all about it here.

What do you think you’ll read next?

My plan is to read the sequel to Silken Scales, Perfect Pitch by Alex Hayes, which is also for the blog tour. I will also read Kingdom of Ash by Sarah J. Maas once I finish Tower of Dawn.

WWW Wednesday is a weekly feature hosted by Sam at Taking On a World of Words. Three questions, three answers. Let’s go!

What are you currently reading?

I haven’t started anything new since last week because A). I was rushing to get two review copies finished for this week, and B). my other reading has slowed way down due to my rehearsal schedule for the show I’m in. So right now, I’m still reading Stranger Rituals by Kali Rose Schmidt for a blog tour, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J.K. Rowling for my Chapter-A-Long posts, and Tower of Dawn by Sarah J. Maas for my friend Jess who really wants me to finish those books already! I’m working on it! I swear! I’ll get a lot more reading in once the show finishes, or at least once tech week is over.

What did you recently finish reading?

I finished It’s Our Time by Diane Krauss. You will see that review posted tomorrow, but the short version is that it started really strong and then got a little meh towards the end. Which was disappointing. I also finished Lock Every Door by Riley Sager for a blog tour, which you will see on Friday. It was awesome. I absolutely loved it.

What do you think you’ll read next?

Same answers as last week. My next set of reviews coming up next month are Ever Alice by H.J. Ramsey and How the Light Gets In by Katy Upperman. I don’t know anything about these books or these authors, so I’m looking forward to discovering new things! On top of that, I will also be reading Kingdom of Ash by Sarah J. Maas once I finish Tower of Dawn, so that will be another series to check off my list.

Hope everyone is having a good reading week! Please leave your WWW in comments!

What are you currently reading!

So many things! I had stopped requesting NetGalley reviews or blog tours back when I was getting ready for vacation because I knew June would be a hectic month, but then I signed up for a bunch of stuff in July and . . . I may have overdone it. I’m currently reading It’s Our Time by Diane Krauss and it’s really good so far. Very dystopian, which I’m a fan of. Also reading Lock Every Door by Riley Sager, which is very mysterious and a bit creepy. Also set in New York City, which I totally dig. I also started reading Stranger Rituals by Kali Rose Schmidt. More of a straight up fantasy so far, but more on the darker side. I’ve only really just started it, but it’s good so far. I’m also still working on Tower of Dawn by Sarah J. Maas and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J.K. Rowling.

That’s five books currently in the hopper. That’s a lot for me!

What did you recently finish reading?

I was very excited that I finally finished reading Kushiel’s Avatar by Jacqueline Carey, which means I can cross Phédre’s Trilogy off of my “Complete the Series” challenge list! Yay!!! Those books are so good, but sooooooo looooooooong. I’ll have the review up for this one tomorrow hopefully.

What do you think you’ll read next?

My next set of reviews coming up next month are Ever Alice by H.J. Ramsey and How the Light Gets In by Katy Upperman. I don’t know anything about these books or these authors, so I’m looking forward to discovering new things! On top of that, I will also be reading Kingdom of Ash by Sarah J. Maas once I finish Tower of Dawn, so that will be another series to check off my list.
