And with that, the first month of the new year is over! An interesting start to be sure, if a bit slower blog and reading-wise than I expected. Still, slow and steady wins the race, doesn’t it. Let’s take a look at January.
January Reads
- The Iron Knight by Julie Kagawa
- The Lost Prince by Julie Kagawa
- The Iron Traitor by Julie Kagawa
- A Wild Radiance by Maria Ingrande Mora
Four books to start off the year. I wanted to do more but, as you can see, there were a LOT of days where I didn’t make time to read. That is something I really want to work on.
Challenge Updates
GoodReads Challenge: My goal for this year is to read 52 books, or at least one book per week. In January, with my four books read, I am right on track. I would like to build up a bit of a buffer next month and get ahead a bit, but that’s February’s problem.
GoodReads Choice Awards and Beat the Backlist have not been started yet, or at least, no progress has been made. We’ll see what next month brings.
Blog Updates
I started out in January wanting to blog every day to help jump start my blogging again for the year. That didn’t quite happen, but I did blog quite a bit. Here’s the breakdown:
- Month (Year) in Review: 1
- Reading Challenge Post: 1
- Teaser/Top Ten Tuesdays: 3
- WWW Wednesdays: 4
- Book Blogger Hops: 3
- Sunday Posts: 3
- Reviews: 6
That’s 21 posts for the month, including 6 reviews! That’s pretty darn good, if I do say so myself!
Shop Updates
Lastly, an update on my Etsy shop, Tabby Cat Textiles. I was able to get two more sales, which was super exciting. One was for a friend of mine who ordered a custom set of fingerless gloves and she’s already put in another order for her sister! The other January sale was another random person who found me online. I still need to work out how to expand on that a bit more. I’m not the best at social media, but I’m working on posting more to the shop’s Facebook and Instagram as well. If you are on either of those sites, give me a follow! I’d really appreciate that. You don’t have to buy anything (although I’d love it if you did lol) but if you can share it, that would also be amazing. Here are a few new items that were posted in January:

Overall, January was a pretty good start to my year in reading, blogging and crafting. Hoping to continue this energy going into the next few months.
