Teaser Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by Ambrosia at The Purple Booker. Here are the rules if you want to play along:
- Grab your current read
- Open to a random page
- Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
- BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
- Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
This week’s teaser comes from House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J. Maas.
Hunt woke the moment he scented a male in his room, his fingers wrapping around the knife under his pillow. He opened an eye, grip tightening on the hilt, remembering every window and doorway, every possible would-be weapon that he could wield to his advantage —
He found Syrinx sitting on the pillow beside his, the chimera’s smooshed-up face peering into his own.
Syrinx is the best character in this book. I want to adopt him.

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s topic is:
Ten Books I Randomly Grabbed from My Shelf
I’m using my Kindle shelf, since I have more books there. These will also be from my TBR, since I have so many of those as well. They suggested using a random number generator for digital books, but I’m going to use my list and a d20 to help pick. Here we go!
- The Watchmaker’s Daughter by C.J. Archer
- Sweet Oblivion by Bailey Ardisone
- Every Last Kiss by Courtney Cole
- Eternal Starling by Angela Corbett
- UnEnchanted by Chanda Hahn
- Sleepers by Megg Jensen
- Serenade by Heather McKenzie
- Tainted by Alexandra Moody
- Death’s Hand by S.M. Reine
- The Woodlands by Lauren Nicolle Taylor
I’m pretty sure most of these were freebies that I snagged off of BookBub, which means a lot of them are probably self-pubs or small press pubs. I will read all of them eventually, but there’s only so many hours in the day!

I love getting freebie books!
Here is our <a href=”https://www.longandshortreviews.com/miscellaneous-musings/top-ten-tuesday-the-first-10-books-i-randomly-grabbed-from-my-shelf/“>Top Ten Tuesday.</a>
You would enjoy BookBub. They send a newsletter that lists a bunch of ebooks that are either free or extremely discounted, across all platforms (Amazon, B&N, etc.) It’s fun, but gets overwhelming quickly.
I’m a fan of a free book, but I know they can pile up! I’ve not read any of these titles.

They pile up so quickly too! You think you’re just getting a couple and then it explodes!
These are all new to me! I’ll have to check them out.
I hope you have a wonderful week!

They all sounded really good when I got them, but you know. Just not enough hours in the day to read all the things!
I hope you enjoy reading all of these when you get the chance.

Someday . . . .
Spoken like a true bookworm.
I haven’t heard of any of these books, which makes sense if they’re self-published or published by small presses. It’s good that you’re giving them some love 🙂 I hope you enjoy them when you read them.
Happy TTT (on a Wednesday)!

That’s what was nice about BookBub – it got a lot of these authors in front of people who may have missed them before. Let’s face it – there’s soooooo many! It’s easy to miss so much.
