Teaser Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by Ambrosia at The Purple Booker. Here are the rules if you want to play along:
- Grab your current read
- Open to a random page
- Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
- BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
- Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
This week’s teaser comes from The Saint of Bright Doors by Vajra Chandrasekera.
Fetter is silent for a long time after Mother-of-Glory finishes speaking. She is also quiet. The line crackles between them, and behind that static he can hear Acusdab’s birdsong. Suddenly he misses it.
This is one of the strangest books I’ve read in a long time. Loving it so far!

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’ is a Genre Freebie, so I am choosing’s topic is:
Ten Favorite Villains
This is such a fun topic! There are so many wonderful villains out there and, let’s face it, sometimes the villain is more interesting that our heroes. Some of these on this list are not the main big bads, but were evil enough to create a splash on their own. Here are some of my favorites.
- Grima Wormtongue (The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien)
- Dolorus Umbridge (Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling)
- President Snow (The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins)
- Torak (The Belgariad/Mallorean by David Eddings)
- The White Witch (The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis)
- IT (A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L’Engle
- Quade Asher (The Marked by March McCarron)
- Lilith (Cursebreakers by Brigid Kemmerer)
- Valentine Morganstern (The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare)
- Queen Red (Splintered by A.G. Howard)
