Teasers & Top Tens – July 8, 2025

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by Ambrosia at The Purple Booker. Here are the rules if you want to play along:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

This week’s teaser is from Elevation of the Marked by March McCarron.

He’d be shocked the attendant had given him alcohol – it would see Quade hadn’t given any stipulations to the train attendants. With the absence of his drug, he needed something, anything, to dull his senses. Spirits, grant me anything but a sharp mind. He snorted at the double meaning.

Things aren’t going well for this guy. Poor Peer!

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s topic is:

Ten Books I’d Like to Re-read

It’s funny, but back in the day, it seemed like I mostly did re-reads of old books instead of reading anything new. That has definitely changed over the years! I don’t get to re-read my favorites as much as I would like, but here are the ones I always love to turn back to.

  1. The Night Circus by Erin Morganstern
  2. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins (the whole series, really)
  3. Truly, Devious by Maureen Johnson
  4. Mosquitoland by David Arnold
  5. Lock Every Door by Riley Sager
  6. The Grace Year by Kim Liggett
  7. The 10,000 Doors of January by Alix E. Harrow
  8. Paper Towns by John Green
  9. A Danger to Herself and Others by Alyssa Sheinmel
  10. Feed by Mira Grant

Now I just need to find the time to read them!

  5. I’d definitely like to find time to re-read The Hunger Games Trilogy too!

  6. I want to re-read The Ten Thousand Doors Of January as well, and I wouldn’t say no to Mosquitoland and The Night Circus.

  7. The Hunger Games series is on my list today, too. I also really enjoyed the Truly, Devious series. I reread the first few books last year so I could catch up in the series. It’s amazing how many details I had forgotten!

    Happy TTT (on a Wednesday)!

    Susan
