Teaser Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by Ambrosia at The Purple Booker. Here are the rules if you want to play along:

This week’s teaser comes from The Ministry of Time by Kaliane Bradley.
He had a mole on his throat, close to his earlobe. The only existing daguerrotype of him showed him in 1840s fashion, with a high cravat. I stared at the mole.
“This is London?” he asked finally.
“Yes.”
“How many people live here now?”
“Nearly nine million.”
He sat back and shut his eyes.
“That’s far too large a number to be real,” he murmured. “I am going to forget that you told me.”
Our man is not adjusting to the future well. He’ll be okay. Eventually.

If I can keep up with this, by the end of Summer I will have read my book club’s pick for June, three more books off my GoodReads Awards list, and completed two more series off of that challenge. Puts me well on my way to achieving my goals this year, which is exciting!
