WWW Wednesday – May 14, 2025

WWW Wednesday is a weekly feature hosted by Sam at Taking On a World of Words. Three questions, three answers. Let’s go!

What did you recently finish reading?

I just finished reading The House in the Cerulean Sea by T.J. Klune and I loved it so much! The world building was beautiful and I absolutely love the characters. Can’t wait to keep reading this series.

What are you currently reading?

I just started Somewhere Beyond the Sea by T.J. Klune. Too early to tell how I feel, but I’m sure it will be good. This is also the GoodReads Award winner last year for Best Fantasy, so I will check another book off that list for my challenge. Yay!

What do you think you’ll read next?

I’m not 100% on this one, but I feel like it should be another GoodReads Award winner, since I’m a bit behind on that particular challenge. I’ve found a bunch of the books at our local used book store (shout out to McKay’s!), so I have quite a few to chose from. I think I’ll probably go with The God of the Woods by Liz Moore. It won for Best Mystery/Thriller and I’ve heard really good things about it. Other than that, I will have my next book club book coming up at the end of the month. For May, we are reading The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches by Sangu Mandanna. I am sold on just the title alone, honestly.

That’s my reading for the week!

  1. That’s an awesome set of books! I just read the two TJ Klune books and loved them both so am looking forward to your thoughts on Beyond the Sea (Chauncey remains the best bellhop, in case you were worried about that!).

God of the Woods is probably one of the best mysteries I’ve read in a while, I really enjoyed it and the chapters are really short which makes it a really easy read. Very Secret Society was delightfully cosy so I’m really hopeful that you love that one 🙂

    Happy reading!!

    • I am loving the TJ Klune books so much. And of course Chauncey is the best bellhop! How could anyone think otherwise!

I’m looking forward to Very Secret Society, but I may be holding off on God of the Woods due to some library holds coming available.

  2. The House in the Cerulean Sea and Somewhere Beyond the Sea will forever be among my favorite books. Klune is a master at the found family trope.

  3. I loved House in the Cerulean Sea and want to read the next one. I also want to read The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches.

    Have a great week!
