WWW Wednesday – February 12, 2025

WWW Wednesday is a weekly feature hosted by Sam at Taking On a World of Words. Three questions, three answers. Let’s go!

What did you recently finish reading?

Since last week, I finished listening to Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins. I have very much enjoyed listening to this series for the re-read this go around. It definitely makes me want to watch the movies again though. I just need to find time to do it. I also finished reading Divine Rivals by Rebecca Ross. This was a book that I remember seeing everywhere a year or so ago and always wondered about it – the cover is so striking. I have to say that I absolutely loved it.

What are you currently reading?

I am still working on Caraval by Stephanie Garber, although it’s very slow going since I’m doing the annotating buddy read with it. I’m having a hard time finding things to say, especially when I just want to sink into the atmosphere. I don’t think I’m good at this annotating thing! I am also reading Ruthless Vows by Rebecca Ross. This was one of the GoodReads Choice Award winners from last year, which is part of my reading challenge for 2025. It’s why I picked up Divine Rivals in the first place, which ended on such a cliffhanger!

What do you think you’ll read next?

I think I want to jump back over to something off my “Complete the Series” challenge. I’ve made a decent start to the challenge so far this year, and would like to keep up that momentum. That said, I think I’ll probably read A Curse So Dark and Lonely by Brigid Kemmerer. There are three books in that series and I only ever read the first one. I’m still trying to see what audio books come available at my library, so nothing on that front just yet. I do have another book club book for the end of this month – In the Lonely Backwater by Valerie Nieman. I know absolutely nothing about this book or the author, other than the blurb, but it looks like a murder mystery thriller sort of thing, so it should be good. Also exciting is that the author will be coming to the book club! She’s a NC local and, I believe, friends with one of our members. Can’t wait!

That’s my reading for the week!

  3. Looks like you have a lot in the pipeline.

I used to take notes for Blog Tour books, but found that I wasn’t getting into the book the same.

    Have a great week!
