WWW Wednesday – February 5, 2025

WWW Wednesday is a weekly feature hosted by Sam at Taking On a World of Words. Three questions, three answers. Let’s go!

What did you recently finish reading?

I am keeping a fairly good pace right now, finishing both of my reads from last week. I finished listening to Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins, which was just as good as The Hunger Games was. I also finished Apostles of Mercy by Lindsay Ellis, which I mistakenly thought was the end of this series, but turns out it’s not. There’s more! And I need it!

What are you currently reading?

As expected, I am listening to Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins. Listening to these books has made me want to rewatch the movies so bad! Maybe I can find some time this weekend and have a movie marathon. I am also finally doing my buddy annotation read of Caraval by Stephanie Garber. This was suggested by a friend of mine who saw it on TikTok. A group of friends each picked a book they liked and reread it, using pens, highlighters and sticky tabs to showcase their favorite parts. The books were then circulated and each person who read the book added their own annotations (using different colors, so that everyone would know who said what). By the end, you get your book back with all kinds of notes and comments in different colors from your reading buddies. That means that this read of Caraval is going to be sort of a slow one, since I want to take my time with the notes, but it’s been fun to do so far.

What do you think you’ll read next?

I will need to pick a new audio book series at some point and I’m not sure yet where I will start with that. Leaning towards Cassandra Clare again? Maybe? Either the Last Hours trilogy or the Dark Artifices. Haven’t completely decided yet. I do know that I will be reading Divine Rivals by Rebecca Ross, in fact I may start that one before I finish Caraval since I’m taking my time with that one. This will also lead up to reading a book off of the GoodReads Choice Awards list, since the sequel to Divine Rivals, Ruthless Vows, won for Best YA Fantasy last year. So my next two reads will be those two books, with maybe a Cassandra Clare audio book thrown in.

That’s my reading for the week!

  1. Ooo are you reading THG for the first time? You’re in for a treat. Oh and the movies hold up SO well — we rewatched them all not too long ago. It’s such a well written series.

  2. I hope you enjoy Divine Rivals and Ruthless Vows! I enjoyed that duology!

  3. Ive seen Caraval around. I don’t know anything about it though. That buddy reads sounds fun, I just have this thing where I need my books to be pristine 😂 also I’m not sure what I would annotate 🤔

    Have a great week!
