Wow, so I disappeared during the month of December. The holidays are already a pretty stressful time of the year, but we also had a key person at my job walk out with no notice right before Christmas, so that did not help. We were all running around like crazy people and, while I managed to sneak in quite a bit of reading, it didn’t leave much time for anything else. Not when I was going straight to bed after work. Here’s how December worked out.
December Reads
- Your Blood, My Bones by Kelly Andrew
- Jane Anonymous by Laurie Faria Stolarz
- The Xibalba Murders by Lyn Hamilton
- The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman
- Zeus is a Dick by Susie Donkin
- Looking for Alaska by John Green
- The Kaiju Preservation Society by John Scalzi
- An Absolutely Remarkable Thing by Hank Green
- The Christmas Pearl by Dorthea Benton Frank
For how busy this month was, I am very happy to have gotten through nine books! It’s a weird mismash of stuff, since I was originally trying to read for the Reindeer Readathon (that didn’t happen), plus finish my A-to-Z challenge, plus read my book club pick this month.
I managed to read almost every day. Pretty proud of that.
Challenge Updates
I’m actually going to skip this part, since I will be doing a full 2024 challenge review tomorrow. Suffice it to say that some challenges I completed, some I did really well, and some were laughable. More on that later.
Blog Updates
Hahahahahahahahahaha!!
Things had been going really well for a while, but then . . . The good news is that I do have a system that works now – I’ve proven that – and I can get back on that now that I’m not working quite so much.
So yeah, for December, I wrote three posts: my month in review for November, a Tuesday Teaser & Top Ten post, and a WWW Wednesday. This means that I’m a bit behind on reviews, but I know how to catch up. It will be fine. Mostly.
Overall, December was a crazy, busy, overwhelming month and, not to be a Grinch, but I’m very glad it’s over. Looking forward to the new year and a fresh start!
