MONTH IN REVIEW: September 2024

September was a decent month. I felt pretty good about how my reading went. Let’s see how it went down!

September Reads

  1. Ensnared by A.G. Howard
  2. The Athena Protocol by Shamim Sarif
  3. The Shadow Mission by Shamim Sarif
  4. Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare
  5. The Will of the Many by James Islington

Only five books, but still pretty much on track with what I want to do this year.

Last month, I didn’t read any physical copies at all; this month, those were the most that I read. I guess it just depends on the book. The main thing I am glad of is that I have been reading almost every day. The days I don’t are usually heavy working days where I am half asleep once I get home.

Challenge Updates

GoodReads Challenge: My goal was to read 75 books this year. As of the end of September, I am at 56 books read, which according to GoodReads is right on track! I was ahead at the end of August, which means I did slow down a bit, but I’m not behind pace yet. Fingers crossed!

Complete the Series: My goal this year was to complete six of the nineteen series that I haven’t completed yet. This month, I read the Athena Protocol duology which, yes, was only one extra book to read, but it still counts! This brings my total series completed to five for the year. Only one more to go! I should be able to do that in three months!

Beat the Backlist: I almost don’t even want to talk about this one. My goal this year was to read 25 books off of my owned TBR and, once again, I made zero progress this month. Honestly, it’s very hard to keep up with this one and Complete the Series. I may try for 2025 to just knock all of my series out, and then start trying to beat the backlist. It might be easier that way. I’ve only read six books so far off my TBR. I seriously doubt that I’ll get nineteen more out of the way before the end of the year while keeping up with anything else.

A-to-Z Challenge: I didn’t add any new letters this month, which means I still have F, J, K, O, R, V, X, Y and Z. I probably need to start concentrating on this one just a bit more.

Blog Updates

I made 20 posts in the month of September, which is pretty good considering that I had a couple of weird weeks. My new way of keeping up with my schedule seems to still be working, so I’m definitely happy about that. Here’s the breakdown:

  • Month in Review: 1
  • Audio Round Up: 1
  • Sunday Posts: 5
  • Teaser/Top Ten Tuesday Combo Posts: 2
  • Teaser Tuesdays: 1
  • WWW Wednesdays: 4
  • Book Blogger Hops: 2
  • Reviews: 4

I seem to still be keeping up with reviews, although it helped that I didn’t read a ton of new stuff in September. Still, that meant that I got to go back to pick up some reviews left over from last year, which was nice. I’m hoping to keep up that energy once I start picking up new reads.

Overall, September was a fairly decent month, both reading and blogging-wise. I’m going into the busiest part of the year at my job, so I’m hoping to be able to continue going forward into October and Fall. The best time of the year, as far as I’m concerned.
