WWW Wednesday – October 2, 2024

WWW Wednesday is a weekly feature hosted by Sam at Taking On a World of Words. Three questions, three answers. Let’s go!

What did you recently finish reading?

First off, I need to manifest REMEMBERING TO LINK MY WEEKLY POSTS. Since I usually write them the night before, I keep forgetting to link them up to the hosts once they’re live. Ugh!

Ahem. Onto the topic at hand.

I finally finished The Will of the Many by James Islington! Man, that one was a bit of a slog to get through, but towards the end, it got really, really good. This was the beginning of a series and I don’t know if I will continue with them or not. The next book comes out next year, according to GoodReads, so I’ll see how I feel then.

What are you currently reading?

I have decided to stop waiting for my audio book hold for Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare, book #2 in the Infernal Devices trilogy. I have a paperbook copy of it, so I will just start reading it. If I get the audio book, then I will switch over to listening to it. The problem is that the library only has one copy and there are several people ahead of me waiting for it. Of course, as soon as I decide to start reading the physical copy, the hold will come in. Just watch.

What do you think you’ll read next?

Ironically, my hold for Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare has come in. This doesn’t help, since it’s the third book in the trilogy and I haven’t read/listened to the second one yet (and yes, it’s a reread, but I don’t remember enough of the details to just skip the second one). Other than that, I’m having a hard time deciding. I’ve been going through my Beat the Backlist TBRs, but the problem with most of those is that they are almost all the start of a several books long series – that’s how I ended up with them in the first place. BookBub offered a lot of first books for free to suck you into wanting to buy the rest of the books in the series. It’s a good strategy, one that worked way too well on me.

All of that to say, I think I will be reading Subject A36 by Teri Polen. Teri is a fellow book blogger who offered this one on NetGalley. It’s the first book in a series, but there is only currently one other book, so it’s a bit less daunting. Plus, it sounds really interesting, very dystopian, and you know I love that stuff.

That’s my reading for the week!

  1. I have heard that about The Will of Many! I will attempt it one day.

  2. I’m the same as you. I do the posts the night before and need to remember to link them up. I also need to remember that there is often a time difference so I can’t do it early 😂

I hope that the audio comes in soon and that it all works out ☺️

    Have a great week!
