Teaser Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by Ambrosia at The Purple Booker. Here are the rules if you want to play along:
- Grab your current read
- Open to a random page
- Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
- BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
- Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
This week’s teaser comes from The Annihilation of Foreverland by Tony Bertauski.
Click-click-click-click.
The walls inched closer. Reed gripped the bars of his shrinking cell.
His legs, shaking.
This is the opening of the book and I already want to know what the heck is going on!

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s topic:
Top Ten Bookish Wishes
This is a simple task this week – what are the top ten books we wish to have. There are so many for me. I think my “Want to Read” stack on GoodReads is over 200 titles now? Here are ten of the big ones that I am really excited to get.
- A Knight in Distress by Barbara Russell
- The Ashfire King by Chelsea Abdullah
- Damned by Alexandrea Weis
- A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness
- Legendborn by Tracy Deonn
- Raybearer by Jordan Ifueko
- Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Saenz
- All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr
- The Fifth Season by N.K. Jemisin
- Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman
Please leave your teasers and top tens in comments!

I’ve heard such good things about The Fifth Season.
I have too. It was everywhere for a while and I heard nothing but praise.
it was hard for me to make my list because I have so many I want. It was hard to narrow it down to ten but I got there. You did a good job doing it too!
I know! There are so many to chose from!
I’ve read A MONSTER CALLS, but it’s been awhile. I loved Ness’ Chaos Walking series. I need to re-read it one of these days.
Happy TTT (on a Wednesday)!

I’ve heard the name for a long time, just never got around to actually reading any of Ness’ work. Will hopefully do so soon.
