This week’s teaser comes from Arrows of the Queen by Mercedes Lackey.
Surrounded before she could even think of calling out for aid, Talia fought with every trick she’d learned from the weapons master, but it was hopeless. Struggling, she was half-carried, half-dragged to the river bank, and tossed up into the air, landing in the icy waters of the river with a shock that drove what little breath she had from her lungs.
Some old school, classic fantasy from the 80s. This is a fun series, although it’s a bit bland for my taste. This comes from the first book of a trilogy, which I finished a while back. Finishing up the third book now.
Also, as a side note, how the heck is it August already! That doesn’t seem possible.
No Top Tens today but hopefully next week now that I’m back from vacation and will hopefully have more time.
