What did you recently finish reading?

Since my last WWW was nearly a month ago, quite a bit! At the time, I had been debating whether or not I should do another series reread or not, but in the end that’s what I decided to do. I reread the six books in the Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare (City of Bones, City of Ashes, City of Glass, City of Fallen Angels, City of Lost Souls and City of Heavenly Fire). I also started rereading her Infernal Devices trilogy and finished the first two books (Clockwork Angel and Clockwork Prince). I was going to try and finish up the trilogy before the end of the year, but didn’t quite make it. Instead, I read one of my Christmas presents, The World of Critical Role by Liz Marsham. For anyone not familiar with it, Critical Role is a livestreamed Dungeons & Dragons campaign that is played by a group of friends who also all happen to be professional voice actors. I am a HUGE fan of the series so this book was a really cool deep dive into the actors and characters. So fun!

What are you currently reading?

I am currently reading several things. First off, I am reading Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare, the last book in the Infernal Devices trilogy. As indicated by my teaser post yesterday, I am also rereading The Girl of Fire and Thorns by Rae Carson. This series is the first one on my list of series to complete, so I figured I’d go with it. It’s been several years since I read the first book, so I needed to brush up on it. I remember liking it, but that’s it. The third book I am currently working on is Changeling by Yasmine Galenorn, book #2 in the Otherworld/Sisters of the Moon series. This series is also on my list of series to work on, but it’s pretty long – over 20 books! I’ve read quite a few of them, but like The Girl of Fire and Thorns, it’s been a while. A reread is definitely in order, which is fine because this series is a lot of fun.

What do you think you’ll read next?

I will definitely be reading The Crown of Embers by Rae Carson, book #2 in the Girl of Fire and Thorns series. I’m really looking forward to continuing with this one. Will also definitely be reading Darkling by Yasmine Galenorn, book #3 in the Otherworld series. After that, I think I might read The Ten Thousand Doors of January by Alix E. Harrow. This was a Christmas present given to me by my sister-in-law. It’s still sitting on the corner of my desk and I keep looking over at it. I know nothing about it or this author, but it sounds interesting and the cover is really pretty.
