Weekly Wrap-Up – January 29, 2021

Weekly Wrap-Up

It’s Friday! Yay! This week has been a bit challenging for me, not gonna lie. Work has been hectic, home has been hectic, but all of this was in a good way. I’ve been working hard to build some better habits to take care of myself using an app on my phone to help track them. Mostly right now I am working on drinking more water throughout the day and trying to improve my quality of sleep. It’s been going pretty well so far. I don’t know that I feel the effects of it yet, but I also have 30 years worth of not sleeping well to try and fix.

This week I also quietly celebrated my year anniversary working at the bakery! Yay! It was a bit bittersweet because I also said goodbye to the boss who hired me. He sold the business a few months ago because he is retiring and has stayed on to help the new owners get situated, but yesterday was his last day. I’m happy for him. He has worked very hard and built a successful business. He deserves to have a nice retirement and spend time with his family, but the bakery will miss him and I know he will miss us.

The blog has been going well. I finally caught up on all my 2020 reviews, so I can start posting the ones that I’m currently finishing. Yay progress! I had a pretty good reading week this week too, so let’s take a look at that.

Reading stats, January 22 – 28, 2021

  • The Rules for Breaking by Ashley Elston – read chapters 15 through the Epilogue, finishing this book. This also finishes up this series, so yay! One off the list!
  • Looking for Alaska by John Green – read pages 28 through 221, finishing this book! I actually read most of it last night after getting the notification that my library ebook was due back on Saturday.
  • Each of Us a Desert by Mark Oshiro – read pages 63 through 233. This book is amazing! I’m a little over halfway through with it and can’t wait to see where it’s going.
  • Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas – read chapters 1 through 10. I had forgotten how slow this series starts out with how epic in scope it becomes by the end. I have to read up through chapter 18 before I can watch the first discussion on Nerdist Book Club and I’m curious to see what they think of it.

Two books finished, including one that counts towards a bigger reading goal (Complete the Series), and good progress on two others. I’m happy with that!

I’m hoping to have enough time to do a Nostalgic Reads post this weekend, but those do take a lot longer to do so we’ll see. I’m also reformatting my book review listing, so be sure to check that out. If you ever wondered about whether or not I’ve read a book, that is the place to go. It’s not quite done yet, but it’s starting to look a bit more organized.

Have a great weekend!
