WWW Wednesday – 12/16/20

WWW Wednesday is a weekly feature hosted by Sam at Taking On a World of Words. Three questions, three answers. Let’s go!

What did you recently finish reading?

I finished up American Gods by Neil Gaiman. Man, I had forgotten how amazing that book really is.  I had to check and see, but I have never actually reviewed it on this blog, so I might have to do that once I catch up on reviews. There might be a push of reviews coming here in the next few weeks (hopefully before the new year) so I can catch up. I also finished reading Champion by Marie Lu and I was kind of blown away by that one as well. I couldn’t put it down, and that ending . . . my heart!

What are you currently reading?

I am still working on His Majesty’s Dragon by Naomi Novik. I need to finish that one so I can decide if I’m going to continue that series or not. I’m a bit on the fence about it, not that the book isn’t good, it’s just not the type of book I want to read right now, if that makes sense. I am also currently reading Boundless by Cynthia Hand, book #3 and the final book of the Unearthly series. So far I am really enjoying that one and can’t wait to see how this all wraps up.

What do you think you’ll read next?

I’m trying to decide if I want to read Rebel by Marie Lu. It’s not technically book #4 in the Legend series – it’s more of a companion book that follows one of the secondary characters during part of Champion. That’s why I’m still counting the Legend series as completed on my “Complete the Series” list because I did indeed read the main books. I do know that I will be starting The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien at the start of next year while I continue to read along with Mark Reads. I need to keep going with his older reviews so I can catch up to where he is currently (that’s gonna take a while, but it’s fun). It’s also been a while since I’ve read any Tolkien, so it will be nice to revisit it. Other than that, I think next year’s reading will be focusing heavily on my “Complete the Series” list and trying to get back into requesting ARCs and blog tours. But that’s another discussion for another post.

Speaking of posts, this might be my only one this week. The holiday season has kept me super busy at work and that means that my energy is pretty tapped out for other things. Busy is good and I’m still enjoying it, but it’s a lot. For sure. The good news is I will have some time off the week between Christmas and New Year’s while the bakery is closed for renovations. I am definitely looking forward to that.
