WWW Wednesday – 5/20/20

WWW Wednesday is a weekly feature hosted by Sam at Taking On A World Of Words. Three questions, three answers. Let’s go!

What did you recently finish reading?

Y’all! I finally finished The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern!! I’m so happy right now!! Granted, I need to take some time to actually process what I read because whooo boy! Erin Morgenstern can do that to you. It’s really hard to think coherently right now.

What are you currently reading?

I started my re-read of The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. I am really looking forward to this. Also, in an attempt to work my way out of a reading slump, I am re-reading Comes the Night by Norah Wilson and Heather Doherty. This is the first book in the Casters series. I’ve read the first three, but didn’t realize that the fourth book came out several years back. It’s been a while, so I definitely need to refresh my memory. I do remember that the first three books were excellent and the third one ended on quite a cliffhanger.

What do you think you’ll read next?

Definitely the second Casters book, Enter the Night by Norah Wilson and Heather Doherty. We also just got our copy of The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins. You know I’m a big Hunger Games fan, so I’m looking forward to that.

That’s it for me this week. Please leave your WWW in comments!

  2. I’m really looking forward to hearing what people think of Collins’ new book. I’m waiting for some reviews to pop up. I hope you love it!

    My WWW Wednesday.

  3. I’m glad you’re so excited aboyt finishing The Starless Sea. Some books really give you that extra punch when you finish them haha. I’ve owned the Book Thief for years and have yet to read it… oops. I just don’t really reaf historical fiction and I’m scared 😅

    • Yeah, I’ve been working on The Starless Sea for a while. It’s one of those books that is very complex, which is fun to read, but not the best thing to read when trying to work through a reading slump. As far as The Book Thief goes, I don’t read a bunch of historical fiction either, but this book tells the story in such a unique way, it was a bit of a game changer for me. I definitely think you should give it a go. It’s really brilliant.

      • Yea I totally get that. I’ve been having some trouble focussing on my books recently. Sometimes you really have to work to understand what’s happening 😅 You’re giving me some new hope I might enjoy the Book Thief!

  4. Looks like a great selection! Happy reading.

  5. I’ve been wanting to read The Starless Sea for a longest time but I have to be picky about what I pick up from my book buying ban 😅 I know what you mean though about finishing her books! I didn’t know how to feel when I finished The Night Circus, I just loved her writing. Happy reading!
