Weekly Wrap-Up (sort of) – 11/29/19

Weekly Wrap-Up

It’s a weekly wrap-up in the sense that it’s being done on a Friday, but since my blogging has gotten a bit spotty over the past month, it’s not exactly the same as it has been.

A lot has been going on, which is part of why I’m not blogging as regularly as I usually do. First off, as many of you know from my update post, my kiddo has been having a lot of issues. It is ongoing, with good days and bad days, and right now we are just trying to maintain her school progress as much as possible. That is easier for me to handle since I am no longer working.

That’s right, I lost my job. I wasn’t fired, not exactly. It was more of a mutual decision since I had missed a lot of days dealing with my kiddo’s issues. I felt bad about it and knew that they needed someone stable in there. At the same time, they had been so patient and supportive, as much as a job can really, and I am very grateful to them for that. It does leave me feeling a bit off though. My day-to-day schedule is always in flux now and I’ve been having a hard time adjusting to it. You’d think it would be easy, since I have more free time during the day, but it’s surprising how that can be slightly stressful in it’s own way.

I’m trying to take that restless energy and focus it into some other things. For one thing, I am working on several crafts at the moment, one in particular that I just finished for the Broke & the Bookish’s Secret Santa. It’s been nice to get back to some of those things.

This is one of the scarves I’m working on. I absolutely love this yarn! The colors are so beautiful and vibrant – the picture doesn’t even do it justice. Plus, I really love this stitch. It’s called the “waffle stitch” because, well, it looks like a waffle! I think this is going to go to my mom when I finish it, since these are some of her favorite colors.

Let’s see, in “other project” news, I am afraid that I will be closing out the podcast I was doing. Part of this is because I can’t afford to host it anymore, and part is just because I wasn’t really feeling it, and I’m sure that came through the microphone. I liked the idea of the project, but the truth is that there is another project that I really would rather do. I just need to get up the nerve to actually do it (and also to convince myself that I’m not too old or too awkward to do it).

That’s mostly it for the wrap-up for right now. To all my American readers, I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving yesterday. We had a very simple day, a nice dinner with close family. I am very grateful for them and I am also very grateful for all of you out there who take the time to read my little corner of the Internet. Even though I haven’t been around as much, I found out this morning that I am very close to reaching 600 followers. That’s so amazing! I never thought I would get that far with this – EVER! For anyone who takes the time to read, to comment, to like a post, or anything, thank you so much. It makes my bookish little heart so happy!
