Teaser Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by MizB at “Should Be Reading.” She is on holiday this week, but still, I enjoy posting teasers, so here you go. Here are the rules if you’d like to play along.
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
That night at five minutes to midnight Quentin was remembering that conversation and trying to hold on to that feeling as he loitered on the Ponte dell’Accademia, holding copies of Il Gazzettino and the International Herald Tribune, just to cover all the bases, and a really great, amazingly expensive raw steak, doing his very best impression of somebody who wasn’t about to jump into the Grand Canal.
– The Magician King by Lev Grossman
I have to say, I am enjoying The Magician King a whole lot more than I enjoyed The Magicians, which as you might remember, wasn’t much. I even said that I would never read the sequel, but somewhere along the line, I changed my mind. And I’m glad I did. I’m sure I’ll post a review of this book at some point. It’s rather long.
Please leave your teasers in comments!
