Teaser Tuesday for June 17th

Teaser Tuesday New

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by MizB at “Should Be Reading.” Here are the rules if you want to play along:

• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Red made the choices, and the others accepted them, even when, as it seemed to me, they were foolish beyond belief. How could a man who acted so unpredictably, who made such erratic decisions, be their leader?

– Daughter of the Forest by Juliet Marillier

This has been a good book so far. There’s something about Marillier’s writing that is very soothing, very comforting to read, even when she’s describing terrible things happening. Definitely continuing with this series, at least the first trilogy. Maybe the second one, if I have time.

  1. That’s a great question — and a great teaser. Sounds like an interesting read and I will have to check it out!

My TT post is from upcoming YA Urban Fantasy release, Fractured, by Karen E. Hoover.

  2. AAAAAHHHH! You’re reading one of my favorite series EVER! Son of the Shadows is actually my fav book of all time. I hope you enjoy them and please don’t feel any pressure to like them from this comment. 🙂 ❤

  3. Good question … why would they follow him.

  4. Sounds good. Marillier is an author I keep meaning to read. My teasers this week are from The Inventor’s Secret by Andrea Cremer and Shadow Spell by Nora Roberts. Happy reading!

  5. Great teaser. I don’t know the book. I will have to check it out. Here is my TT http://cynthiastacey.com/2014/06/17/teaser-tuesday-june-17/

  6. Great book title! I enjoy reading books where the writing is smooth and soothing, so this sounds like a good one to me.

  7. Sometimes a comforting book is just what you need in life. A great teaser and I sympathise, foolish decisions are really annoying for observers. Here is my TT http://cleopatralovesbooks.wordpress.com/2014/06/17/teaser-tuesday-june-17/

  8. How could they follow someone who made terrible choices.

  9. I’ve been wanting to read this author for years, I’m hoping to get to her this summer. I love your teaser this week 🙂
