Teaser Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by Ambrosia at The Purple Booker. Here are the rules if you want to play along:
- Grab your current read
- Open to a random page
- Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
- BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
- Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
This week’s teaser comes from Shadow Rising by Dianne Sylvan, book #7 in the Shadow World series.
Miranda stepped back into the camera’s frame, and watched as her own image began to form on the laptop screen. As many advances as David had made with the tech there was still an odd delay of three or four seconds before whatever the camera recorded was translated into something that made sense.
You know, because she’s a vampire. It happens.

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s topic is:
Top Ten Bookish Wishes
From Jana: I host this topic twice a year (around Christmas and again in June), and people love it! List the top 10 books you’d love to own and include a link to your wishlist so that people can grant your wish. Make sure you link your wishlist to your mailing address [here’s how to do it on Amazon] or include the email address associated with your ereader in the list description so people know how to get the book to you. After you post, jump around the Linky and grant a wish or two if you’d like. Please don’t feel obligated to send anything to anyone!
I love this idea and definitely want to try and go around the other links and maybe surprise someone with a wish or two. I have an Amazon wishlist somewhere that I used for the Secret Santa (found it – it’s here!), but please don’t surprise me with anything. I already have way too many books that I haven’t read.
Just for fun, here are the books that I have listed on it:
- Beyond the Black Door by A.M. Strickland
- The Immortalists by Chloe Benjamin
- Slated by Teri Terry
- The Queen’s Poisoner by Jeff Wheeler
- The Cruel Prince by Holly Black
- The City of Brass by S.A. Chakraborty
- The Night Diary by Veera Hiranandani
- Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Saenz
- Raybearer by Jordan Ifueko
- Legendborn by Tracy Deonn
Please leave your teasers or top tens in comments!

City of Brass is so good!! I highly recommend that one, even if you just borrow it from the library!
I’ve had my eye on it for a while now. Hopefully will get to it one day.
I’ve heard good things about Raybearer.
Here is my Top Ten Tuesday post.
I saw the author at YallFest a couple of years ago and thought she was awesome. Can’t wait to read the book someday!
I hope you get some of these and enjoy them – I’ve just begun Chakraborty’s newest, The Adventures of Amina al-Sirafi which is great so far…
These are some of the books on my Wishlist at the moment!
I’ve heard good things about that one too. Hope you keep enjoying it!
I haven’t read any of these. I hope you get to read them soon.
I’m looking forward to it. Someday, at least. 🙂
I haven’t read any of these. I hope you enjoy them all!
Happy TTT!
Susan
