What Jamie said is giving me nightmares. If Julie is not already dead — if she is not already dead she is counting on me. She is calling me, whispering my name to herself in the dark. What can I do — I can scarcely sleep. I just go around in circles all night trying to think what I can do. WHAT can I do?

This book is so good. I should finish it this week.

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s topic is:

Top Ten Authors I’ve Read The Most Books By

This is another one of those topics where I’m very glad that I have GoodReads to try and find out this information. Some of these I would have immediately known, but others were either a surprise or authors that I haven’t read in a while and had forgotten about.

1. David Eddings – 20 – Eddings was the first fantasy author I read and the first fandom I got into. Of his many works, I have read his two series (the Belgariad with 5 books and the Mallorean with 5), the two companion novels that go with those series (Belgarath the Sorcerer and Polgara the Sorceress), and the guidebook for the lore, The Rivan Codex. I’ve also read his two companion trilogies (the Elenium and the Tamuli). There is also a non-fantasy book of his called Regina’s Song that I’ve also read and enjoyed.
2. Yasmine Galenorn – 16 – Galenorn writes mostly urban fantasy and paranormal romance. I started reading her Otherworld/Sisters of the Moon series back in 2014, specifically the first book, Witchling, for the podcast I was co-hosting at the time. Back then, I was really trying hard to finish all the series I started, but I did not realize just how many books were in this one. I think the series is finally finished, with the 21st book published last year. I only read up to book 16 before I gave up and had to read other things.
3. Neil Gaiman – 13 – I was actually surprised by this one. I love Neil Gaiman, don’t get me wrong, but I didn’t think I had read this many of his books. Then I remembered that I read most of the Sandman graphic novels last year, which definitely upped the count. My favorite Gaiman books will probably always be American Gods (still haven’t watched the TV show though) and Good Omens, co-written with Terry Pratchett (I did see this TV show and it was excellent).
4. Chloe Neill – 13 – Another one that I sort of forgot about, but probably should have thought of. Neill is the author of the Chicagoland Vampires series, which I managed to finish last year. Thirteen books in that series and they are all solid. I love her take on vampires and urban fantasy. And the romance between Merit and Ethan is perfection.
5. Cassandra Clare – 9 – Of the Shadowhunter books, I’ve only read the first two series: The Mortal Instruments (6 books) and The Infernal Devices (3 books). I may have read the first book in The Dark Artifices series, but honestly, I don’t remember and I would have to read it again, so I’m not counting it. I also need to read The Bane Chronicles, which are sort of a collection of short stories focused around one of my favorite characters, Magnus Bane. I’ve read a few of the stories, but not all of them, so it doesn’t count yet.
6. J.K. Rowling – 8 – This one needs no explanation, now does it. Although I am still not particularly happy with Rowling right now, I cannot deny how much her books have impacted me. And if you are thinking of the Harry Potter series and wondering where the 8th book is coming from, I am counting The Tales of Beedle the Bard, which I have also read.
7. Pittacus Lore – 7 – This is another one that I had forgotten about, but I did read Lore’s series I Am Number Four a few years ago and really enjoyed it. Seven books in the series, all of them strong and full of sci-fi suspense.
8. Sarah J. Maas – 7 – As many of you know, last year I finally read the Throne of Glass series. Honestly, I don’t know why it took me so long to get to it. Seven books in the series and they were all really good, with excellent characters, lots of world building, fantasy, and adventure.
9. Dianne Sylvan – 7 – By far, Sylvan is the author of my all-time favorite vampire series, Shadow World. This series is not yet complete, as she has had to self-publish the last two books, but there will eventually be eight books. I have only read the first five but they are so, so good. In addition to this series, Sylvan has also written a book about paganism called The Circle Within and a book about body image issues called The Body Sacred. Both of those non-fiction books are also excellent.
10. Rachel Vincent – 7 – Rounding out this list with another YA urban fantasy series, this one called the Soul Screamers. It’s the first fantasy story I’ve ever read about banshees, which made it feel very unique. Seven books in this series and I don’t know if enough people know about it. It’s very good!
