MONTH IN REVIEW: June 2026

June was a decent month. Not an outstanding month, but a solidly respectable one. And we’re at the halfway point of the year – how did that happen so fast! Let’s see what went down on the blog, shall we?

June Reads

  • Onyx Storm by Rebecca Yarros
  • Read Between the Lies by Jesse Q. Sutanto
  • The Book of Doors by Gareth Brown
  • As Many Souls as Stars by Natasha Siegel
  • The Housemaid by Freida McFadden
  • Belladonna by Adalyn Grace
  • The Circle by Dave Eggers

Seven books! That’s pretty darn good! Granted, one of them was mostly read in May, but I couldn’t count it for May since it wasn’t finished, so June it is. I am very pleased with that!

Challenge Updates

GoodReads Challenge: My goal was to read 52 books this year. At the end of June, the halfway point, I am at 28 books read so far. That’s 2 books ahead of schedule, which is the pace I’ve been mostly keeping up with thus far. Plus, I was able to complete all 12 prompts in the GoodReads Spring Challenge! Huzzah!

GoodReads Choice Awards Challenge: My goal was to read all of the winners of the GoodReads Choice Awards from last year. I can finally, officially, claim Onyx Storm by Rebecca Yarros (winner for Best Romantasy) as finished. Unfortunately, I was not able to add to this, as I was trying to finish the Spring Challenge. This brings my total to 6 out of 13 read and I requested several books to be put on hold at my library. I will be tackling the heck out of this challenge once my buddy read is over.

Beat the Backlist: I might be putting this goal on hiatus. Just not feeling it.

Blog Updates

In June, I really wanted to focus on getting back into blogging and I think I made some good progress. Here’s a break down of what went down:

  • Month in Review: 1
  • Top Ten Tuesday: 4
  • WWW Wednesday: 4
  • Book Blogger Hop: 4
  • Sunday Post: 4
  • Reviews: 5
  • Miscellaneous: 2

That’s 24 posts in 30 days! I feel really good about that! The two miscellaneous posts were my post about going to Book Warehouse in Easley, SC and my Pride Flag Book Tag post. I’m especially proud of the 5 reviews I did last month – catching up!

Shop Updates

As I mentioned before, Tabby Cat Textiles is sort of on hold right now. There are still listings up for people to purchase, but I’m not actively promoting it. Mostly I’m just working on making a bunch of stuff and then having a sort of re-opening thing at the beginning of fall, maybe around the time school starts. I have a few new ideas as well that I’m kicking around, including some bookish things to add, so stay tuned!

Overall, June was a pretty productive month and I’m hoping that July is the same!
